All I'm saying is his lucky he plays for Surrey who get the benefit of playing on the only batting friendly pitch in the country, I have no doubt if he played elsewhere he wouldn't be averaging 50.

I don't follow English county cricket because its not aired in Australia but purely looking at the most runs tables for the past 2 seasons there are a couple players that have been stand outs and not even considered.

He’s played 25 tests, the sample size is large enough that you should be discussing his test record not his domestic record in a soft league
A soft league where most others average low 30s, who has done better than him? Nobody else who has got a shot at test level has out performed him and those playing county can’t better his record
Who cares? Do you want a medal for him being a good county cricketer and a woeful test batsman?
He averages 27 from over 40 test innings and it won’t get any easier batting 3…

yeah they had a stat about that on reddit few weeks back, if i remember right england were easily best in close games(matches decided by 2 wickets or less) we had lost more than we won which wasnt a surprise.

Would be fitting since both teams where in insanely good positions at one point of the test and one will end up losing.

The last 12 times he's gone past 50 he's got to 100 8 times including 4 180+ scores. He's shed that problem a bit.

The Oval is the best batting pitch in England, he plays majority of his First Class games there, so his 50+ average is flattering. Theres some countys every game is lucky to have a innings above 200.
His now played 24 Tests in the easiest batting position in the side #5 / #6 and averages 27.. his his gone from averaging 60 in County cricket to 27 in Tests.. Big drop and he doesn't even look like having a technique suited for #3 so can't understand that move.
