Probably whoever has seen any sport - like every team sport in the world - that has substitutes.

Oh yeah they’re the devil

I played the game for near on 50-years and never ever was a player allowed to be replaced once the match had started regardless of the circumstances..

This is just more of the kumbeyah crowd taking over.

Look I agree, a bowler can break an ankle in their follow through and it’s just bad luck concussion should be no different

I actually wasnt aware that you could use subs in test cricket....so it was a bit of a surprise to me as well.

So. Plenty of people before 1970 played cricket for 50 years without white balls being invented or one day internationals being invented

Kumbayah criwd? Are you ****en serious?

Yeah what we should be encouraging is MORE concussions and the nurological and mental health issues that come with them.

Really? You don't remember the Jofra vs Smith thing from 2019? When Marnus came in as sub?
Its not something that occurs all that often and no that didnt ring a bell. Reminder me which test match was it?

Be interesting to see how much the second new ball does tomorrow. Has the pitch completely flattened out, or was it always like this but this is the first innings either teams managed to last 40 overs? If the latter, England are ****ed imo

I for the life of me don't understand Stokes bowling bouncers, his the least intimidating bowler getting around. He averaged like 100 in the Ashes with the tactic.

Interesting also that root always got blamed for that tactic of using stokes as the enforcer when maybe it was just that he was too weak a skipper to tell stokes thats not a good role for him and its actually stokes who thinks he does that job well.

His strength as a bowler is pitching it full and trying to get some swing... it's such a bad tactic for him.

It looked flat from day 1, just both sides batted shit.
