Think Pep might be taking that a bit too far with playing central defenders as midfielders haha.
Stones is good there and excellent alongside Rodri.

Akanji I dont like in the midfield so much.

Think it was a game for Kovacic/Nunez, or drop Bernardo or Lewis back into a deeper lying role.

Yeah that's what im saying, Stones... ok. But Akanji as well was just taking the piss. Villa ran through you too often. Missed Rodri badly.

I think mental fatigue might be a factor. All season we seem to have been a bit on edge, lots of bookings and drama. And lots more mistakes than we're used to. Despite a good points tally up to a few weeks ago, I don't know that we were playing that well.

Bringing Alvarez into the starting lineup has been a positive and a negative. He's done great, but we give up control of the midfield when he plays and we ask Rodri to do too much by himself.

Stones and KDB missing for most of the year hasn't helped, and Gundogan leaving hurt.

I also think Pep doss a lot of experimenting in the first half of the season so I'm hoping he'll sort things for the run home.
Not to mention the 115 charges yet to be decided against the club. Surely that is taking its toll.

I wouldn't think it would have any impact.

Just seen Jonathan Liew's comments about Ange. Absolutely ****ing disgusting, blatantly wrong and often contradictory.

Anyone who has followed his career knows that the version you see here is the same bloke that managed Brisbane all those years ago.

Pretty appalling to be honest.

Have they dropped 9 points in 4 games before?

Pretty unique run of games.

Chelsea away. Disappointing result but still Arsenal and Liverpool only got a point there.

Liverpool at home. Were easily the better side. It happens.

Tottenham at home. Not as dominant as against Liverpool but still were better. Plus a team they struggle with.

Villa away. They'd won their last 13 at home. Tough a challenge as any right now.

Given they've had some key players out and really only the Villa game they got the result they deserved I think no reason to be writing them off.

Bit early to go with that, played 30 and 32 pl games the last 2 years. This injury was a bad one but he probably rushed it
the problem they have or definitely had this morning
KBD still a long term out but no Gundogan to cover, Rodri is out and with Doku and Grealish out Silva's role changed from normal I think.

Their centre mids today were just not going to get it done.

14 in a row at home for Villa. Incredible really.

They were more dominant against spurs than Liverpool mate. They should have been 4 up at half time.

Villa game was their weakest squad as well. Not an excuse for them either as the players they had out there still should've been better and good enough to trouble Villa. They didn't.

Yeah their squad just isn't that deep. Gundogan might be one of the most underrated players ever

Yeah bit of a weird attack and seemed to be for attention rather than a genuine belief about Ange.

yeah don't think City were that dominant against Liverpool. The better side on the balance of play sure but Liverpool had their moments and City weren't creating heaps of chances.

It has been a tough run of games and they are absolutely hammered by key injuries/suspensions.

However, in previous years they have had one team to chase down. This year they are chasing down at least three other sides and Newcastle will only be 1 point behind them if they win tomorrow.

In this little tough run of games City have conceded 9 goals. That is not normal for them.

what were the comments mate?

I don't think Arsenal's run of results is sustainable if they're relying on late goals and one goal victories which seems to be a thing of regularity for them. Either their performances become more dominant or they'll start dropping points in those games.

Liverpool are Liverpool. They'll win nearly all games at home and perform away. Wouldn't be surprised if they win it.

Don't think City (even though they peak in the second half of the season) look anywhere near as impressive in previous seasons and the squad depth is definitely a relevant issue. I know the default position of most is that they'll win it because they always do but personally don't think they're playing anywhere near well enough.

Villa and Newcastle - both surprisingly not far off. Villa are a better attacking side, Newcastle the best defensive side in the league probably. Both will push for the top four positions but only one of them will get it. Neither are good enough to win it.

Tottenham's squad isn't good enough. Quality of depth was an issue when they were on their run and it's proved to be an obvious issue. Particularly with Ange's style of football. He needs back-up players who suit his style.

If you were to ask me right now who I think wins it? I'd say Arsenal.
