Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

I like the fact Knights has said they are trying to restructure the midfield and put Howlett in there:thumbsu:, the midfield looks a lot more attacking and hopefully jetta and dempsey can prove to be guns. Jetta has great foot skills so hopefully our forwards can be getting some good delivery.

I would put winders forward rather than stanton as he has shown he is capable up forward and rotate him with Jetta. Agree with others that our defence looks slow apart from Reimers, but I like that Hurley will be starting there, I think the team plays better when he is in defence.

Go Bombers!

Welsh to the back pocket is the right move. In fact I think they've got the back 6 right, although T.Slattery is a bit stiff. He has a taste for it now though, and can spend some time getting his nose fixed.

The forward line looks more potent, with more players able to kick goals. I would be temped to swap Stanton and Jetta around, but it's not like it makes a huge amount of difference when they line up.

Of the interchange I think the players selected would be: Bellchambers, Prismall, NLM & Dyson.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

WOW..

Essendon FC :thumbsu:

Best looking team we have had out on the park for most of the year.

To all the dilusional Esseond supporters calling for Houli to be in the side, calling for Myers to be in the side. Seriously.

Who's position are they going to take?

I really like this team, a real team for the future (bar grandpa Bomber in the backline somewhere :p).

I would expect the outs from the extended bench to be Lonergan (Monfries is back), Travis Colyer and Jake Melksham..

Like I said before, best team we have had on the park for a long time IMO.

You ask a position, I will reason it for you. Promise :p

Duckworth, I think you will find Stanton has been named on a HFF to try and break the tag that he will almost certainly cop. Him being named on a HFF takes an Essendon player and an opposition player away from the stoppage.

I like the fact im right, many of your draft picks are shocking

I just enjoy good humour. And frankly u made him look like a muppet. I'm all for that.

Its amusing that a Demons fan came onto an ESSENDON forum, got offended by a comment then proceeded to look up Essendons drafts the past decade to find a comeback :D

Houli and Myers should both be getting a game ahead of Dyson, Prismall, Howlett and Welsh. So should Atkinson. Houli in particular has performed better than any of those when playing for Bendigo, Atkinson would give us the run from half back that we are going to miss and Myers gives us flexibility through the midfield and down back.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

Hey Guys

Yes I am a West Coast fan but I am not a troll. I also have a massive soft spot for the Bombers on account of your large West Aussie contingent and the fact that you play such an attacking brand of footy which is relieving from what my boys often dish up:p

Now please don't shoot me down but as a neutral observer I reckon your dip in form has coincided with big Hille being out of the team. He was playing brilliantly before getting injured and offered you guys loads of grunt and leadership which I reckon you miss.

Now Bellchambers is progressing nicely but he's no Hille. I really hope for Essendon supporters sake that he gets back soon and you can start winning a few more games with him back. When do you you guys reckon he will be back. I'm hoping next week:thumbsu:

Apologies if this was out of line but again it wasnt a troll- just a footy fan hoping to see a great player back soon:)

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

This is a tricky team. I can't rate it until I see where those players are played. Dempsey on a wing would be great, Welsh out of the mid to allow for new rotations would be great.

On paper, in those spots, it's an improvement, although not 100%. The spots rarely hold true these days, but I just hope that they do this w/end.

Very happy to see the return of Neagle, Monfries and Howlett!

Lonergan, McVeigh, Dempsey and Lovett-Murray all don't deserve a game.

Houli has been playing as a rover for Bendigo for the past 6 weeks. So, he is playing as an in and under player. Now, who's position does he take in the seniors?

Hm, let's take a look at it. Jobe Watson? No. Andrew Welsh (Tagger)? No. Heath Hocking (Arguably our most improved midfielder this year), Ben Howlett (Has shown he has clean disposal in traffic at both VFL and AFL level), Mark Mcveigh (Mature body who knows what he is doing), Jake Melksham (Superstar in the making) and Jason Winderlich (Inside and outside player).

Now that brings me to the next point. Who's place does he take? Dyson? No, Dyson works hard both ways now a days. Brent Prismal/Brent Stanton? No. Both possesion accumulators who win enough of the ball to be damaging enough.

Did I miss any one?

Truth be told, I had high hopes for Bachar too. But have since seen the light to see that he is either a), not a Knights favorites or, b) he is simply not doing what he should be doing at Bendigo and not getting the call up.

As for Myers, same thing applies really, but it is multiplied. He is indeccisive when the ball is in his hands, this booming kick of his has gone M.I.A in recent weeks, whilst he didnt hit the side of a barn door on the weekend at Bendig (Honestly got me stumped why he was named in the best for Bendigo).

So... Yeah, hope that answers your questions.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

Lonergan, McVeigh, Dempsey and Lovett-Murray all don't deserve a game.

Lonergan - Agree

Mcveigh - Has been playing down back and doing ok. Don't see relevance.

Dempsey - Has been lacking in recent weeks, positional change since.

Lovett-Murray - Don't watch football, was one of our best earlier in the season before he missed some weeks.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

So is it fair to assume that TSlatts isn't one of Knight's love childs?

Plays one game and is one of the best players and one of the only players having a crack yet is dumped. He then proceeds to bring in Dempsey who has been awful.

I'm not a big Bachar lover and don't mind eithe way whether he plays. But the fact is that he couldn't be out of the side over Prismall just due to Prismall 'getting enough of the ball to be damaging'. Bachar averages 20+ possies when he plays and can be damaging enough, it is just the other parts of his game which keep him out.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

Mark Mcveigh (Mature body who knows what he is doing but can't hit a target), Jake Melksham (Superstar in the making) and Jason Winderlich (only an outside player). Dyson? Did I miss any one? quote]

Yep- you missed Houli. Worth a crack over that lot in the current climate.

Re: Team Rnd 15 vs Melbourne

As Skeeta alluded to earlier the Bendigo squad is:

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=7619
B: Flaherty T.Slattery J.Williams
HB: Collins Hardingham Atkinson
C: Marigliani Myers Prismall
HF: Carlisle Quinn Melksham
F: Liddle Cloke M.Williams

R: Bock, Lonergan, Houli

I/C: Still, Shinners, Crameri, Page, James, Duseher, Delahunty, Scanlon, Skipworth

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/news.asp?nid=7619

Bolded are those named in the seniors. Make of that what you will, but that would mean all of the inclusions will play, wouldn't it?
