As an Arsenal man i just feel we are going through our biggest and lonogest trophy drought.

Just have not won anything for like 4-5 years.

Going through a trophyless times.

Good team but not there yet.

Still a long way to go to those days of the early 00s ala Henry and Berkcamp days.

Arsenal to me are going through a rebuild.

Just hope they win a comp sooner then later.

Pretty sure this was the case years ago. Lower league teams drawing against a big club would often sell the home rights to the bigger team so they would get a great payday from the higher attendance/gate takings.

Not sure why that got changed.

Farnborough v Arsenal in 2003 might be the last game that got switched. Farnborough claimed it was for security reasons but the FA closed that loophole.

Note that at the time the FA said "replays are part of the fabric and romance of the FA Cup competition and should not be removed".

I hate the idea that lower league.clubs should be able to select the venue for cup ties.

So many memorable matches at lower league stadiums, so much money to be made from playing at big stadiums.

I fear money would win every time and we'd lose much of what of what has made the competition so great.

Replays should never have been scrapped.

I don't see the harm in giving clubs the option to switch the game. Some clubs in the lower levels struggle to get by from week to week. A big pay day might ensure their financial security for a few seasons, or allow them to improve their facilities. It would be a great day out for National League or League 2 players and supporters to play at a big Premier League ground.

Don't mind scrapping the replays, think they should have done the same for League Cup semis. Tamworth got some nice memories from it. they also hiked adult prices from £18 to £39 and from £5 to £29 for kids under 10 (according to the Guardian). Demand and supply i guess with big team coming to town....well Spurs I mean.

As I said at the time of all the outcry about replays being scrapped, if clubs are relying on replays/big Cup draws to survive then football finance is broken and there needs to be more structural reform than just expecting clubs to rely on chance in a Cup draw.
