Re: Fevola to Brisbane for Bradshaw + Rischitelli??

Watch footy much do you?

I've seen Bradshaw tear defences apart(Gee...who was it that won the EF for BL against us???) and as for Rischitelli he goes very well thanks very much.
I'll be happy to get one season out of Bradshaw!

Bye Fev you can crack the sads in a BL jumper from now on

I won't. We're giving up a full forward who'll give us elite service over the next two years and likely be very good for a year or two thereafter, who we'll get decent service out of for a year or two (50 goals) if his body holds up. And Rischitelli, who's a solid player at best.

Given the competition for spots in our side now, I can't see Rischitelli really given us all that much improvement.

Look it seems a good trade. For all the people who hate it, its still not a done deal, and there is a chance one or both of them will not want to come.

This could be one of the most absurd pieces of analysis I've ever seen. How does Fev's off field influence = -100%?

Add Fev's 1 percenters and goal assists +50
Add Fev's popularity with membership +80
Add increased sales and sponsorship with popular player +50

etc etc

Bradshaw + Riska: 1 percenters and goal assist +50

Add Fev's popularity with membership +80
Add increased sales and sponsorship with popular player +50

How, exactly, does this help us on the field?

A couple of premierships in 2012 and 2013 will rectify any merchandise sales.

Your argument doesn't stack up I'm afraid.

And don't forget our co-sponsor is Malaysia, a Muslim country which frowns heavily on alcohol, let alone alcohol abuse. Would you like to lose their dollars?

Remove emotion from your thought process and replace it with logic. I beg you. :)

Ill say it again:

Fevola, Hadley + 27 for Bradshaw, RiskAtelly + 12

Anything else and its a dud deal... notwithstanding Fevolas indiscretions.

We should sit on it untill Friday (while we push for 12 in exchange for Hadley and 27 to be added) and see if something else comes along from Sydney, the Saints or the Pies.

The only pro is Bradshaw being adle to cover up forward for the next two years (at best). Kruezer or Hammer better bloody step up as forwards as there aint no-one else on the list coming up who's going to fill in.

RiskAtelly is going to find it very hard to edge out: Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Mclean, Hadley (if he stays), Stevens, Simpson, AJ, Walker, Carrazzo, Houlihan, Russell.

He's basically a tagger FFS.

Plus, we need the low pick to nab a decent KPP.

Could not agree more. If we dont get a 1st round pick for a key forward we are basically f***d long term. Our window is in 2 - 5 years. Bradshaw will be long gone. We have no key forwards to develop and no f***n chance of getting a decent one in the next 4 drafts.

How many more midfielders do we need?

What a stupid decision if this goes through. Gutted.

I do honestly feel for you Carlton fans, it's always tough to see a favorite son moved on. The deal hasn't yet been completed I don't believe (i could be wrong) so there is still hope.

I can't help but think that the pies or the swans could have mustered up something a little more even if Carlton had just waited.

I think he is only the favorite son of a few deluded people, i am very very happy he is gone. He is a cancer and am glad to get rid of the disease!

Nah... you had to get rid of Cuz because he was a drug addict and it looked like he had just been busted and was about to bring the club into disrepute and end up costing the club all their draft picks plus financial penalties.

Then there was his 5 missing days which ended up with his arriving in a hospital as a suspected cocaine od...

If you think that the west coke e-girls just gave him away you are deluded...

My point being was that we lost one of the top 5 players in the comp for nothing. I was just identifying with the feeling of losing a lot for nothing (or in this case, very little) in return...

Any chance of getting back into the first round, so to speak?
As Mal suggests, we are getting ribbed if we aren't offered their top pick or a young KPP of some description. Rischitelli is surplus to our needs at the moment as well. Let's hope there's another party involved to augment the offer.

Rischitelli is a pretty good player who will definately be in our best 22. He is a defensive midfielder which is exactly what we need, and he lives to tackle. He'll be very good for Carlton and Ratts will love him.

We're not getting into the first round. We got a first rounder, his name is Brock McLean.

Out of curiosity would a Brown/Wellingham or Dawes/Wellingham have been more appealing that the Brisbane deal?

Brown and someone decent or pick 14 would've been strongly considered.

Dawes/Wellingham? Can you post that on every page so I can laugh just as much as I did the first time, that was gold mate :thumbsu:

Ok it is time that Carlton fans get a bit more realistic with this trade.

Fev is a great footy player and is a great FF no doubt, but his position at CFC is untenable and he must go....no if's, but's or maybe's.

What BL have offered up as a trade is IMO a very good outcome, especially if you have a look at what other clubs have offered up....

Sydney (Reported #14(which they dont have yet))
Collingwood (#30)

BL have come along and offered Carlton (subject to player approval)
Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli.

Now lets look at this objectivly.

Daniel Bradshaw - 31 (just Turned) 222games 496 Goals.

Evberybody is jumping up and down saying that his body is shot, and that is rubbish!

He played 19 games this year out of a possible 24. He missed 5 because of a Hamstring Injury - It happens!
In thopse 19 games he kicked 50 goals as a secondary target to Brown and not always playing forward....to me this is a good return.

He brngs experience, knowledge and a great game with him and would IMO be a good addition to the CFC and help fill the void in the forward line until Kruez and Hampson (who will play stints down forward) mature.

Michael Rischitelli - 23 (will be 24 in Jan) - 89 games - 40 Goals.

eveyone on here is saying he is shit and another plodder...all rubbish.
I dont know how many BL games people actually watch, but this kid can play his ass off.

Is widley regarded in Brisbane as one of their toughest and most courageous in and under midfielders. He has a great kick on him...long and acurate, good mark, good pace, great tackle. Was also 6th in the BL B & F last year.

In 2009 he had 116 Tackles to his name (our best was Judd at 101, then AJ at 91).
75 inside 50's.

He will be in our best 22 no problem at all, he will add great depth to the midfield and backup to McLean as an in and under ball winner.

I can also see him playing as a defensive Forward Flanker moving through the midfield when McLean is not on the ball.

IF this deal gets done, which it looks very likely that it will, it is not the end of the world and I for one will be pleased with the outcome.

Also first round draft picks are a lottery and over rated...

just a reminder to blues supporters out there

Pick 4 - Luke Livingston
Pick 6 - Murray Vance

Having early speculative picks does not give you a gaurenteed 200 gamer and never will.

Well done to Swan, Icke and Ratten on securing the best possible outcome for the Carton Football Club!

We have so many fans with such little concept of business.

Every club has sponsors, sponsors pour millions into the clubs each year.

Alot of the sponsors companies will be wanting to be associated with a product that is family friendly.

It's not that far of a stretch to suggest we wouldn't have had sponsors who may have reconsidered their involvement with the club after once again that halfwit Brendan Fevola's actions.

This isn't just a football decision, it's also a business decision in protecting the clubs brand name being sullied by the actions of one idiot.

Carlton are hell bent on creating THE best football set up in the league through totally profesional standards being applied in all areas of the club.

If any player can't adhere to these standards then piss them off, they don't share our vision.

WOuld you rather lose a major sponsor and keep Fev?

If you would rather keep the fool then you are a prize idiot who would see a club fold before it would flourish

The comments being made about Bradshaw and Rischatelli's games(in the negative) further highlight the total lack of some peoples total football knowledge.

I can confirm that the deal will go through!
My mate works at tele choice and CFC have rang through to notify them that the deal will go through!

Great post..Spot on!

I am really disappointed by some of the respones in this thread, particularly by Carlton posters. This is what we know as FACT:

* Fevola has two years to run on his contract, and is on very very good money
* Stuffed up at the Brownlow so badly, that the club decided to seek a trade for one of the best players in the game today

What all of this means, is that, if Carlton are seriosuly going to trade Fevola, then we are not going to get his true market value. What Carlton have to do is eek out the best trade that they can possibly get. With all of the speculation about Sydney & Collingwood wanting to trade for Fevola, yet nothing has been offered up. Brisbane have at least put an offer on the table.

I don't know why everyone thinks that Bradshaw is GAWN. I was at the GABBA for the EF, and I thought he was very very good. What Bradshaw will do is take the best defender, meaning guys like Kreuzer, Setanta, Waite (when he returns) doesn't get the best defender. It's also worth noting that we don't need someone that kicks 80+ goals a year, and then our next best is Eddie Betts on 30 something. What we need is a more even spread of goals, not unlike Geelong, who had something like 8 players that kicked over 22 goals in 2009.

With Rischitelli, we get a tough nut around the ball, and we also get someone that can do a run with job, not unlike the role he played against Carlton in the EF. He is also a good defensive mid, that will at least give us something when the ball is going the other way.

Absolutely disgusted by this trade!

I would much prefer to play Fev in the bullants seconds for 2 years than give him to the team that JUST KNOCKED US OUT OF THE FINALS, FFS!!!!

Can confirm this. I was in a Telechoice not a quarter of an hour ago and Greg Swann called each employee in turn to tell them the Fev trade will go ahead.

You know what, no matter what the club got as compensation for Fevola, not all of us would have been happy. There is a massive gulf between what we wanted for Fevola, and what has been offered out there in the market place.

Alot of names have been put up here on BF, such as Veszpremi, White & ROK from Sydney, to Nathan Brown, Reid, Dawes, Leon Davis from Collingwood, but really, none of these players could have been offered up by either of these 2 teams.

What we have now is a genuine offer, for a proven goalkicker, that whilst he won't kick 80+ like Fevola, he could quite easily kick 50, with the reaming 30 or so picked up by any number of players in our best 22. And we also get another hard-at-it midfielder, that will add to our rotation policy.
