We have only ever got a crowd of more than 20,000 just 5 times in Giants Stadium (out of 96 matches we have played there), with the last time being the Original Round match against Collingwood this year.

Good stats there Melb - maybe we need to temper our expectations slightly. In saying that, every Giants Member and fan should be out there this week unless they have a bloody good excuse not to be!

Yes, they start at $35 for adults but the Cumberland is usually a Cat 1 or 2 when it’s open. Looks like they’ll wait until seats in the Suttor and Fairfax stands are exhausted before opening more anyway.

Guessing the progress is still difficult, of course, because it is not always clear if greyed out seats have been released or not.

Total capacity is meant to be 23,500.

Only thing I would mention is that the club has reported the max capacity for footy games at the stadium is 22,500 rather than 23,500 which is officially reported.

Not sure how that impacts the above numbers. Maybe as you mentioned, the 23,500 includes the standing room and corporate suites?

It has always confused me why the Cumberland Stand isn’t better utilised. It’s construction was one of the key aspects in getting the Showground up to standard for AFL footy. It’s the biggest stand we have and it faces the TV camera empty most weeks.

This is great info, I've wondered it for years, where did you find it from, if you don't mind me asking?

From those numbers it would appear at least 15k tickets have already been sold then. But like you said, they can be shifty and release parts you already think are sold out at a later date.

The Cumberland stand needs some advertising over it. I feel like the only reason they don't do it is due to the criticism port got in the past. The difference is though, it's common in Sydney sports including the nrl and it's level 2 closed off, not random sections on the lower level like the power use to do.

My current prediction based on the seating map:
Green - sold out > 90% or more
Orange - partially sold < 50%
Red - not opened for sale yet
