Sos and Dodoro should not be allowed the be list managers
Also the afl is so corrupt its not funny they literally just make the rules up as the go and to suit there own agenda

Cant use our future second if we’ve on traded our first. Plus we would have * all points left to accomodate Ben and Lucas.

Worry about next years trade period next year, it’s not hard to get a dumpsters worth of 3rd round picks

I would love to get Geelong pick 7 if its up for grabs but not sure how we could pick 16 and next yrs first wouldn't get it done could we throw in Hewett or Kennedy

16 this year and 16 next year is 490 points more than 7 alone. Most teams should jump at that.

Would prefer to target pick 10 from GCS if Cats want more than 16 + F1. Feel like we may have some shock departures though, a Young or Kennedy type.

Austin's said we want 3 good picks in the draft and to trade up and that doesn't happen if we're trading up to 7 without any players out the door imo. Fisher a pick in the 30s but that would likely need to be included in a trade up for 7 knowing Dodoro Jnr over at the Cattery

Would we be willing to give up pick #16 for Schultz?

Any chance we can negotiate with Freo?
Schultz just wants to get back home to Victoria right? So why would he mind going to CFC instead of the Pies?

From Freo perspective, pick #16 is better than #18

That would likely get it done but once a player requests a trade to a club it generally excludes others from trying to jump in last minute

Schultz just become Tom Papley by the sounds of his trade value……I like him tho

Went to Moonee Valley races, raised a few eyebrows….
"I picked a few winners," Ginnivan said. Supposedly was at track, with Pies "blessing" 🤷

“I’m not a basic footballer like everyone else, I’m allowed to live a life. I was home by 10pm and was on the waters. Everyone can make of it what they want, but I’m a f***ing premiership player,” Ginnivan told foxfooty.com.au in the rooms post-game.
IMO, another humble FIGJAM braggart....

Pick #16 May end up being #20 or so anyway!

If Schultz is willing to come to CFC, then I’m happy to part with our late RD1 pick and get in some surety - he’ll help us immensely

Caveat - IMO.

Our current holes that Austin needs to get creative with are:
  • Balanced 'quality' mid with elite kicking with some running speed
  • Ruck in that neither of our rucks are good enough to solo ruck so it makes us top heavy and forces us to play two weaker squad players in the 22
  • Second tall defender that is lockdown type (not top price but a 'Petty' price). Gives insurance to Weiters too.
  • Ready to go forward small (balanced who is creative + run down). Durdin/Owies/Cunners are rundown. Motlop is creative who 'chooses' when to rundown.
The above is simply a list of holes to fill that Carlton might not be able to fix. But it is the target for improving our side and what I personally want Austin to focus on.

What we have seen this off season by list managers is an improved propensity to 'give' to 'get'. It will be very hard to get the above but austin's job is to get creative. Schulz would have been perfect for us but did we completely miss on this opportunity or did we approach and get rebuffed. If austin had no idea then that would hurt. Regardless if Pies get him this off-season. It's about whether you are ni the know.

Given our list situation, maturity and salary cap, I think Austin has to give up a piece somewhere to get...or we don't get and just keep trying to win a flag with what we have in terms of major pieces. Of course, there is moneyball, and i'm hoping we get Elijah for a moneyball result and that he fills a need.

The bobby Hill thing i think is the difference between a good footy programme and a bad one.
I think it's interesting the four area you think we need improvement I agree but I think we something different in each area.

Our midfield- I don't think we need another player we need more players rotating like Doc, Williams, Martin, Cuningham and Cottrell. I would like to see someone else developing/depth.

Our Rucks- I think we need some who can ruck part time and impact up forward. A ruck forward kicking a goal a game would be great. They are rare, maybe get Kreuzer to teach McKay to ruck.

Our Tall defenders- I don't think we need a lock down tall defender because I think either Durdin or Young can add backup to Weitering. My concern is the 3 other tall defender Kemp just had a break out season and I think can go another level but Marchbank and McGovern have been injury prone. I think Gould, Highmore or Ruscoe will be cheap backup.

Our forwards- this is where I think we need the most work. Our smalls are developing and going ok. I can see naturally improvement with Motlop and Durdin. We need a player or two as HHF with good skills and can rotate through the midfield. Martin and Cuningham are too injury prone. E. Hollands hopefully will work out in that role and we draft someone as well.

Deal of the day is Gold Coasts pick haul. They did a super job in that deal.
Doedee to Lions second best, but not confident his body will hold up. Getting a very good player if it does. Crows will be rapt with #19 as compo.
