I see that freo were really troubled by all those stats. He must be in your dream team. Plays like dal santo with a wig. It took a few years for the esendon supporters to wake up to Stanton getting a million possessions with zero impact it wont be long before they wake up to heppell too.
Me too, I wish I knew if it wasI really hope this is sarcasm.
OK bloke thanks for sharing. If you don't mind I'm going to go with my observations along with the commentary team, the journos putting their BOGs together and everyone else that was at the ground or watched the game. He was one of the best on the field.I hope Heppell cops the same criticism from ess supporters that zaka cops. Absolute crab. Kicks the ball 20m sideways hoping for a little one two. I know hes one of the slowest players on the list and that's his role but he is terrible. Not suited by the modern game.
I think this game shows the importance of good depth. Fremantle's is good whereas Essendon's is ordinary.

only two really.Essendon went without their top 2 ruckmen

Injuries are not an excuse for either side...
If you're relying on Kommer, Hams, Ambrose and Pears... you are in troubleWe also had injuries to other best 22/next in line depth players in Dempsey, Kommer, Pears, Ambrose, Hams.
Freo was good for the win though.
What the **** do you want him to do, he go got he ball more than anyone on the ground, tackled more than anyone on the ground, won the ball from stoppages more than anyone on the ground and won his own ball just as much as anyone on the ground. Oh but his team lost so it means nothing he is just crap. Gary Ablett kicked 14.7 one day and his team lost comfortably so I guess he was no good that day either.
Bombers had the worst outs
7 of their best 22 out compared to freo's best 5 out.
The bombers had no ruck because of injury, forward line non existent because of injury and they lost a bit of strength in the mid-field when Goddard and Myers were out before the game.
Take into account freo being looked after the umpires and the huge home grown advantage you realize the bombers never even really had a chance of winning.
Freo are much better than the bombers and will most probably be in the gf again, but i honestly think if both teams were full strength the bombers would have won

Lol as Matthew Lloyd picking Essendon to win by 30 points, even proudly enforcing so on the Sunday Footy Show.
This was just so transparent. Essendon are the same ol' Essendon. They beat 2 sides who played disgusting, unaccountable football, Hawthorn put them away early before taking the pedal off.
They can't handle contested football. They are the uncontested 'don't lay a hand on us' Kings. If they got the Kangaroos of yesterday V Sydney it would have been a completely different game. People (like Lloyd) are fooled because Essendon love the flat track, they LOVE putting poor sides away for big margins. Freo could have stomped on them yesterday and made it 80 points. What's the point though?
Teams don't respect them / don't rate them. Proven by the fact that oppositions so rarely bring their 'A' game against Essendon.
Thanks Captain Hindsight. I look forward to your prediction of who'll win the flag in mid-October.Lol at Matthew Lloyd picking Essendon to win by 30 points, even proudly enforcing so on the Sunday Footy Show.

Ruckmen are overrated. So this was a win...And with no ruckman
Boredom. Why do my fellow Essendon fans feed the trolls...
