worried about ccj......but then again do we need 3 ruckmen?
I’d listen to an offer on Chol if there’s any enquiry. Seems there’s a few clubs after talls. Nice kicking action but suspect in a contested marking situation.
Id prefer to hang onto Nank Soldo and CCJ if possible.

I dont see chol as a ruck....I see him as a marking option forward who can bloody run and pressue....I also see him along the back line intercepting and running but now we have balta.....we have some luxuries....but I would prefer not to cut either and instead get some mid options and small forwards

Except he’s not a good mark overhead especially in a contest. Makes him an expendable luxury to me although he won’t be as expensive to keep as the others which may be a factor

So, we may need to cut our list by 4 as well as making the usual space for 3 draftees?
For every Kelly, Cripps, Tarranto, etc we trade in we will have to offload an extra player as well.
Every other club will be in the same boat, and not likely to be as enthusiastic to trade for our off-cuts if it means dumping the 8th or 9th from the bottom of their list, compared to 4th or 5th in a "normal" year.

For what it's worth:
Keep CCJ over Chol if possible,
Rather keep Graham ahead of Ross & even Caddy.

Don't think either of those are breaking our salary cap and can't really see other clubs making super offers to us for them.
Adelaide's number 1 pick? Unlikely. Their second rounder? Would consider...

What this all means to me is that if other clubs really do value our 'culture' they have an opportunity to trade in AFL quality players this year. Where normally it wouldn't happen - we'd keep them. SO if that's true then we can go looking for homes for players and see what drops out. And if a player desperately wants to come to the RFC, and we can fit them in, we have cards to play this year that normally we wouldn't.

It might mean we lose our 7 or 8 players and get someone very good in return, with some salary being paid for. We'd lose them anyway, but this way we get a return.

This also means that some clubs are going to cut really hard. So it could be some clubs cut 10+ players to fit trades in. If they value our depth players they might get in 3 of them.

I don't know what will happen. If the AFL say lists down by 4 that causes big problems. Some clubs might end up in an awful situation. We're probably OK. We have young quality on our list and it is balanced with experience. It might all get very quiet s teams just cannot make it work this year. Or a couple of clubs (Adelaide certainly I think, and maybe North) try to reset their culture and list depth through trades for quality depth players that have to be moved on. It will be interesting. Although I am more interested in winning 3 out of 4. That's a dynasty and might also open the door to a good player coming to us to extend the window.

Actually, thinking back to our 37 year drought, there were plenty of years where we could happily have delisted at least 10 players if allowed.
I remember a little excitement over picking up players like Justin Blumfield, Clinton King, Steve Sziller, Ashley Blurton, Matt Thomas, Nathan Gordon, etc.
Surely norf, Adelaide and other shit-truck teams would be in a position to offer at least pick-swap upgrades for some of our non-essential players?

That's my hope. They try to inject some Tiger culture with a group of players. One of the very few times it makes sense to do the multi-person trade so beloved of BF posters. But ... is it too much of a risk?

We'll see.

We finally get into a window only to have Rona potentially f##k it all up. WE HAVE some of the best depth we’ve ever had at this moment and I don’t want to lose it for sweet fa. Jesus this year is so weird I’d almost use our 1st this year and then just upgrade rookies. Maybe use all of our 1st, 2nd and 3rd to upgrade our 1st this year. I don’t know. I just don’t want to go from in the window to NQR. I suppose I/we don’t know whether we rate this draft or not. Who the hell would want to be a list manager this year lol

Doesn't make sense to trade for a GWS mid when Zac Williams is a free agent. Was their best midfielder last finals series anyway and then they relegated him back to HBF.

FA = Keep picks

That's good for the now and also for the future.

But costs $900k in cap space
4 teams after him and will get that type of $$$

Wouldn't mind the saints kid Jack Bytel we in to him big-time draft night.Had few injuries, but still fit not playing much.
I liked him and Bailey Williams in their draft and thought we missed n opportunity to trade our 19' 1st pick for 2 picks to the doggies that would have got us these 2 players. but Chol/Soldo were not anywhere near they have been this year

Williams/CCJ Ruck Combo was what i was thinking and Bytel as a 16/17 year old was a gun

Noise is pretty loud we won't have to cut lists back at all, AFL has left it way to late for such a change

Too many contracted players at certain clubs with triggers etc for players

Cant see why they need to cut them back now just seems like a knee jerk reaction but hopefully they take their time and reasses

Listening to Lein Cameron yesterday he’s confident Zac Williams will stay at GWS. I hope out of contract Jeremy Cameron stays as well.

That happens and cap pressure will be huge - Could see a scenario that Hopper ( the exact type we need imo) or Perryman is very gettable

Just can’t see Kelly (contracted but with a trigger clause) happening particularly if Williams stays. Other clubs with the cap space will throw the kitchen sink at him, 900k / 5 years. Can’t match that.

Easily the worst thing about Bigfooty is having to read things like Kelly / Fyfe to Richmond.... Not sure how people actually waste their times with things like this.
couldn't agree more, I actually think those posters should be banned. It creates so much ridiculous content that isn't even funny. Also creates a bad image for a small portion of our supporters who are delusional.

hoping we get some news soon if some of our targeted players or list management. Would love a podcast with Michaels/T71 soon. I'm sure there will be to preview the upcoming finals.

I actually think kelly is overrated. Good Skills but kinda like Deledio- plays when he feels like it and a fraction soft. Taranto is the one we should go for. Happily lose a couple of players if we could get him in.

Agree. Kelly has talent but is a bit too outside for what we maybe need at the moment. Tranato is better, but watching him closely the last 4 weeks (mainly due to having a bet or two going), he is a very lazy runner. Tends to plod from one part of the ground or general play and doesn't really push himself that hard defensively. Looks slow-heavy at the moment too. Carrying an injury ?
