The scoreboard is ugly, yet there are so many things which indicate that Adelaide is on top.
We're having almost twice as many I50s as Sydney, but our mids are just bombing it in, without looking for a target. Sydney's flood has ensured that they've cleared the ball with ease almost every single time.
We've had the same number of scoring shots as Sydney, yet they lead 2.7 to 7.2. In the second quarter that was due to where we were taking the shots from, but a lot of it is pressure we've put on ourselves due to some shocking misses in the first quarter. Our first 4 misses were all eminently gettable, set shots from well inside 50... and there's another one from Walker as I type this.
Tippett is having a shocker, but he's far from alone. Walker is the only forward who is actually trying - and he can't do it all on his own. Reilly has been outstanding. VB is playing a great game, first destroying Jetta, then moving to McGlynn.. he's just flat out putting out spotfires.
We can still win this, but we need to do 2 things:
