When talking about Mannagh's draft pick remember last year's draft was historically thin. A recruiter likened pick 40 last year to a rookie pick most years. After Mannagh we took 2 guys not even playing state league regularly to show what we thought of the talent who came through the typical pathways.
Apparently Port were going to take him with their next pick so we grabbed him. He would be playing every week for Port.

It was nice to win 7 in a row at the start of the year but we’ve really hit a wall, starting to remind me of 99-01
Veterans are on their last legs and the youth is too young and inexperienced. Need a gun recruit next year and another good crop of draftees.
I’m less worried, sure it sucks to watch us be absolutely rogered but tbf it’s about time Carlton were good, they’re stacked with Talent from being rubbish for 24 years.
I liked that 5 of our top 6 possession getters were Dempsey, Holmes, Miers, Clark & SDK. Sure they all had some howlers and were well beaten at times but so were Ling, Scarlett, Ablett, Corey, Enright, Kelly, SJ and Bartel.
There’s good kids coming through, I’d like to see more of Neale, Conway, O’Sullivan & Knevitt and get a look at Stevens, Humphries and Hardie.
Fans need to be patient and not throw the toys out of the cot. Cats have been defying gravity for so long some of you are a bit entitled, it’s natural for it to eventually click for teams that have been crap for years and have had access to the best youth.

Edit: I’d be angry at our club if we got belted by 79 points at home and had Ports midfield

We got belted too.

And Port beat us in Geelong...
Well done, read my above post. I'd be annoyed if we got belted and we hadn't won anything in 20 years and had a midfield with Rozee, JHF, Butters and Wines.
We are a team in transition and got belted by a team that should be a premiership threat, its not that hard to process.

I’m not disagreeing with you. I was posting about Mannagh and you made it a comment about Port, which it wasn’t.

What I said was what I meant: Mannagh would be playing for Port every week. There was no judgement on Port or Geelong implied.

But by all means make an argument out of it if that makes you happy.

I’m not sure the appeal is worth it. I don’t think he’s getting off

It's pathetic what footy has come to. That was a simple, legitimate run down tackle.

There was no sling, no excessive force, just two guys falling to the ground as the result of a basic component of the game - a tackle.

It was incidental contact with no malice. The toffees in AFL House have to remember that it's a contact sport and you simply can't legislate incidental concussion out of the game.

I agree with all of this.
I remember a tackle Close got suspended for last year that was ridiculous as well.

Nothing surprises me now.
