Like, this season has been horrid and whilst we haven't won much, lets just make July 11th "Rory said "**** it Bel, we are staying" upswing day

The club needs this, Sloane staying for the rest of his career could just be the circuit breaker that the club needs to arrest the pattern of players leaving.

i dont think anyone in victoria would offer sloane crazy money tbh, if he goes its for belindas sake.

personally i wouldnt mind trading him for a late 1st rounder.

Few people forget how good he is. Probably the best defensive mid in the league and against the better teams he turns it up a notch.

I don't buy it, I think people believe he's gone and are pushing the draft pick trade theories as a way to try and cushion the impending blow.

Things change. Last year we were looking at contending this year and adding Gibbs ought to have improved our chances a good deal. Six months in a leaky boat later, our season's shot, rumours of Gov wanting out, we've already got a good draft hand that could get even better and this year of all years.

I think if we can keep Sloane, we should. He adds an enormous amount to the emotional fabric of the club, and how the team plays for each other.

I'd trade McGovern if it can get us Lukosius. The whole "I've agreed to a deal but now I wish I'd asked for more" rubs me up the wrong way.

Danger signed too, but they delayed that announcement due to Walsh. I think they have not worked out when to tell us he is still signed to Adelaide but just getting much needed match practice with Geelong.

I don't think it's fair to use it as an attack on Theo's credibility.

Lever?....We were never going to match Melbourne's offer and nor should we have.

Paying Lever at this stage of his career $800k - 850k a year would be moronic to say the least.

The only way Lever was going to stay here would have been to accept substantially less.

I don't think they were close to finalising terms, dont think anyone said that.

I think he indicated he wanted to stay, then negotiations started, and thats when it all went pear shaped.
