Game Day Gameday vs the Roos

Do you know how Newchurch is going?
Only caught peoples comments on the sanfl thread. Sounds like he is having some good moments, but needs to get in the game more.

I would hope he is given a taste of afl this year & has a big presesson.

Sunday afternoon footy at Marvel vs a wounded Roos

Will we continue our strong form? Or will NM come out fired up?

What do we want?

A strong win for one.

Hopefully Tex can kick a bag. Want him to win the Coleman. Would be a pure delight

Fog to play in the guts and use his size and win the hard ball

Butts to continue his development

Berry to get more CBA's with Sloane out and get 10 tackles

The side to keep showing signs of good ball movement with the pill and pressure the opponent when they have it. Simples

Crows by 25

The fact they have no Polec or Anderson helps us a lot too
You've summed up my hopes and misgivings as well; really good thread-starter except for your use of "Simples"(I hate those mangy meerkats, Russian accents, dancing girls and all, but that's the grumpy curmudgeon in me :sneaky: :laughv1: ).

Crows by 8+ goals. Must start well, get a decent lead and keep their boots on NM throats.

Thanks for that, I hope he is on some upward trajectory and gets rewarded with a game later in the season.

Lets not ever forget, Charlie was an "alright" player at SANFL level, but took his game to another level when he played AFL for us.

I still dont forget his "Moonwalks" out of trouble moment, that led to the Jenkins goal, about 1 minute after the siren at AO lol.

I hope Nicks has a plan for the players to just take control of the game early and keep possession so that any incentive that North had to a fast start is eroded after 10-15minutes.

Suns genuinely jumped us last week.

Can only be good for Tex

Not great for Doedee/Kelly who will be giving up a lot of size against a 200cm player.

I keep saying it but our defensive structure is wrong. Murray or Worrell needs to come in for a smaller player.

Stengle much higher quality player. 2.5 goals, 3.5 tackles in the spoon side with shortened quarters. Better ball user, much more effective player. Rowe's ceiling looks a lot lower. Hopefully I'm wrong, but he's pretty much a finished product and there's not that much there. 100 game career type, like Mackay, but won't last as long.

Maybe but those goal celebrations are worth gold😄

A little Saturday Night Footy in the desert
Not to shabby
I hope the boys bring it home for you (us) ;).
Sloane's a big OUT but I think Nicks and Assistants are better equipped with with better cattle this year.
I reckon NM will come out hard. If the Crows can absorb that and put a little scoreboard pressure on, NM will fold.
Whatever NM produce to half-time, they will not sustain.

Guys, I went to Carlton / Freo last week under the roof and I think Marvel is absolutely L E T H A L for the swans and crows.

No valid matchup for Tex. Walker the closest fit, not strong enough, fast enough, good enough aerially or overhead. Not good enough off his toes either. The other matchup is the 203cm McKay, who is an elite athlete but does not have acceleration or agility to go with the Texan.

You beat them in the middle, you win it easily.

Tom Campbell ripped us apart one day didn't he ??

Seems like one of those spud types who usually do

Josh Walker isn't even playing
