Still can't believe it. Never been so emotional from a footy game in years. When he kicked that goal I screamed, jumped and hit my knees on my coffee table and then I cried (with joy, mostly LOL).

I thought it was over but we kept creeping back, hanging on. They didn't give up! Not once. Proud of our boys :) 🙌

I was very miffed about Murphy's selection, but credit where it's due for what he produced tonight. Looked right at home playing more in the middle where he excelled as a junior rather than wasting him away as a small forward. Is he a long term option? Probably not, but he proved he can be a valuable option with some of his clearance work.
His game as a small forward was poor but he did some great work at the contest. Won some clearances. I'll be disappointed if he's injured. Like McHenry, I'm not giving up on him completely but he can't be in the side as a small forward. Skills just aren't good enough.

That was brilliant!

Not to dwell on the negatives too much but the discipline has to improve, especially from the forwards. Slinging guys to the ground, holding etc. Not to mention, stay out of the bloody protected area!

Who said Mitch Starc was the inswing specialist under lights at the AO? It's Jordan Dawson!

ABSOLUTE SCENES!!!!!!!

How f*n sweet was that!!!! That kick never looked like being a goal!!!!

Good: Showed a lot more of a game style tonight, and even if we had have lost I would have felt better than previous weeks. Amazing what a difference it makes when you have guys like Dawson delivering the ball inside 50.
Dawson (obviously) he has all the tools to be a very good footballer, if he isn't already. Rangy arms that mark almost everything, footy IQ, composure and vision under pressure, and that left boot is absolute silk.
Gollant, love the way he attacks the ball. He has to stay in the team now.
Him.....Himmel.......Himmelberg........can't believe I'm saying it.
Laird is our best on baller.
Plenty of other contributors tonight too.

Bad: Fogarty. His frustration is showing and has for the last 2 weeks given away numerous undisciplined free kicks. Sorry but it was between you and Himmelberg being dropped for Tex next week, and whilst Himmelberg is likely to be a one hit wonder, he gets the nod.
McHenry, sorry but he just hasn't got it. I've said it numerous times before, ALL he brings is energy and enthusiasm. His skills are ordinary, and he has a severe lack of composure. All he can do is hit up a 20m lead when not under pressure.
Fumbles, we still have a lot of players who have to second grab everything which puts us under increasing pressure.

Ugly: So many umpiring decisions in a pack before the ball had reached them. Very frustrating.
Our lack of discipline. We gave away many free kicks at very important times, not to mention the 50m penalties we gifted them.

Ugly:
Umpires
Goal umpire.
Dwayne

Good:
Dawson
Gollant
Berg
Rachele
Hinge
Keays

Bad:
Fogarty
ROB
Frampton
McHenry
Jones
Rowe
Nick's selection policy.

This all Australian caper. Is there a maximum from each team?
Has a team ever started 0-2 then won 23 games on the trot to take out the flag?

Good:

Our season starts again

Bad:

Feeling more regret about that Freo game. We could be 2-1. But that isn't what our season is about.

Ugly:

Having to eat my words re: EH. Hope this doesn't paper over Frampton, you simply can't be the one that lets Marshall kick 5
I think he's better than Murray, but he gets terribly lost at times. I don't think all of those goals were on him though. Doedee spent a fair bit of time on him.

Always liked Murphy, he was great. Hope he's okay.
If only he could kick goals when the opportunity arises. He had a snap on his left (natural) foot in the first quarter that he should have kicked and I don't think he even scored, and then that important one in the third quarter.

Good players kick both of them.

Can't wait for the Port Adelaide melts when Ken Hinkley is not sacked tomorrow, or this week, or next week, or the week after, or this season

To all the Port lurkers, it's not happening
Exactly he will be there in 2023.

Great:
The Berg
Dawson
Seeing the joy on our players faces after the game - good on em.

Good:
We kicked the last 4 goals of the game to win by 4 points.
Murphys acting skills, the lad knew his limitations.

Bad:
Umpiring was abysmal - both ways, horribly inconsistent with interpretations
Fog, needs a spell in the 2nds. Had Jonas on him all night, Fogs not big enough for their 1st KPD.

Ugly:
Nicks selections, Billy why oh why. We didn't deserve to win gifting Marshall 5 goals.
