Absolutely dominated today by Hawthorn and a number of Geelong players heard footsteps, moved out the way, didn't go etc.

Eventually people who write Geelong off will be right. What I don't get is why they do it. Jollies? My teams better than yours? Suck shit? I was right, yippee?
I love my footy team and I love when they win but I cant stand so called supporters who are more happy that their opponents have lost rather than their own team win. Weird. I'm interested in how others saw it, but I thought Bartel was ordinary. Got enough of it, but made some basic skill errors and turned it over under pressure. Although he's set a high standard to compare against over the years I guess.

Duncan played down back initially it seemed. He is much more dangerous forward of the centre.
Cockatoo played his first game and he will get better.
Caddy I thought played well below par.
Motlop started off really well but faded when the Hawks ran rampant.

Yep. I'll only say Geelong are finished when they actually miss the finals, not before.

Enright, Stokes, Johnson, Bartel, Lonergan all looked slow and sluggish today. Stokes effort to chase in that last qtr was diabolical. Bartel and Enright made basic skill errors that we have rarely seen from them in the past years.

Their ruck division is in real trouble in my opinion. Simpson was slaughtered by Cegler. They have an ageing McIntosh who is also cooked.
The likes of Smedts dont not even close to taking the next step.

It was a bit sad watching that game, such a proud club Geelong to be so utterly humiliated. They do have some good kids coming through but the drop off from their guns is very marked, easy to play them a year to long. The Bulldogs found that out in 2011.

The young foot soldiers are there, Cockatoo will be a gun, but a hard first game? To get the top talent you need to drop down the ladder to build a new midfield of elite players. Good luck for the rest of the year I see them coming between 8 - 10.
