In Catcollecters defence the article on the AFL site mentions elbow, but looking at the incident it is definitely the shoulder that makes contact. Not sure how the AFL site can post stuff that seems to be wrong....but anyway...

Also, I didn't notice any Richmond player having a go at Stewart after the incident, which is unusual. If it was a blatant elbow I would have thought there would have been an all in brawl.
Well in everybody's defence I reckon Scott in his presser post game said Stewie at quarter time said I've ****ed up big time and run past the ball and collected Prestia in the head with an elbow so even they were confused.

Clearly no elbow involved.

Please don’t welcome them back.
We can’t be salty supporters on there board without a sanction so they can all go
* themselves.
They know what they’re doing, play the mr nice card
You know the type. They go back to their board and have a whinge like the rest of them. Good riddance. Let's hope the Pies can do us all a favour and win today

Prefer the echo chamber? I seriously don’t get why it’s a big deal if opposition fans post on each others board. And banning posters for giving a different perspective and a bit of banter thrown in.
Best part of bigfooty the tears from opposition supporters here post their loss shows we are still relevant and in their tiny heads.

I don't see the need to post on an opposition board, especially Richmond's.

rewatched the game just then and gee it was obvious that Gary Lyon had his pants off and his hands inside his underpants when Richmond were winning. Begging for every free 50/50 free kick that could have gone Richmond's way, lauding Richmond's intent. It's so apparent that he doesnt like the Cats.

Riewoldt was actually measured in his praise for both teams, and King is a loose cannon who has strong opinions.

As much as Kolos bad turnover was awful... The single worst turnover IMO was by Shark... Streaming through the middle of the ground he only had to pop that ball to Jez over the top and a large chance we score.. The *s the kick, gives it to them and they score.
I was going to blame Shark for the loss based off that if we hadn't won, was a disgusting clanger and a real momentum changer/game changer..

He was good last week and I thought he was back, but jeeze he was exposed yesterday, Bolton had his measure comfortably and the Tigers knew it and exposed it
Shark?

Same with Hawkins according to Garry Lyon. Hawkins was heavy last week too against the eagles, but that was heavy training loads excuse. He might need a spell in the run in.
2 weeks ago I think it was Lloooooyd who named Hawk the best forward in the comp. And Kingy named Jezz as the best player in the league last week.

And by jeez Kingy has a head like an overinflated soccer ball.

I genuinely thought about it when close kicked his goal
Same feeling

Yep, that actually felt like a rivalry game. As much as Tigers fans loved to hype things up, it's not really a rivalry if one team is just smashing the other (or vice versa, as we did last year).

Will always rate the Hawks our #1 rivals though - the Tigers are just wannabes in comparison.

Rewatch of the game does anyone know what those flashing red and blue lights were behind the goal when Henry was kicking for the match?

Has Close ever had a clanger? the guy literally never makes a mistake. May be slightly off on a pass, but thats about all- decision making just so solid. 200 gamer incoming.

Arguably the best decision maker in the side, which is not bad for a sub fifty game player. His last quarter yesterday was top class.

Yeah he has had some shockers shooting at goal, great player with good endeavor but can absolutely shank it.

O'Connor was poor today but he is much more versatile than Kolo and doesn't turn the ball over as much. O'Connor on Bolton didn't work out but our other backs are too slow to go with a player like Bolton. Rohan would be a better option.
When it came down to it, it wasn't O'Connor or even Kolo that nearly lost the game for us. It was the half forwards and midfield providing minimal pressure as Richmond cut through the ground.

That's why the coaches kept O'Connor on Bolton in the last quarter. They challenged our midfield and half forwards to lift. They gave O'Connor a bit more support by getting Bews to cover if Bolton slipped past.

And when we turned the game back onto our terms - it was Close, Stengle, Miers, Atkins, Guthrie, Cameron (in the midfield) and Stewart who stood up.

It's a team game. Too often, we highlight individual plays, but really - as it's been mentioned by CS time and time again - it is about moments and taking your chances. SOmeone mentioned that Close, Stengle and Atkins don't have baggage of previous losses, but really I don't think it's that. It's more that all three of those players, plus Cameron, are players who see those moments and step up in them. When the pressure is right up there, these three players make those desperate tackles, take those marks, hit targets with kicks, win the unwinnable contests and kick those goals.

Smith and Tuohy and Selwood are also these types of players.

Zuthrie is playing some good footy and should keep his spot, Miers i have give him a hard time and that's been fair, but i thought he did have a crack last night
I was extremely sure Miers was going to have a shocker as I knew it would be a physical game.
I walked away pleasantly surprised
