As much as Kolos bad turnover was awful... The single worst turnover IMO was by Shark... Streaming through the middle of the ground he only had to pop that ball to Jez over the top and a large chance we score.. The ****s the kick, gives it to them and they score.
I was going to blame Shark for the loss based off that if we hadn't won, was a disgusting clanger and a real momentum changer/game changer..

He was good last week and I thought he was back, but jeeze he was exposed yesterday, Bolton had his measure comfortably and the Tigers knew it and exposed it

Kolo should be told never to short pass in field, and if in any doubt, kick it long down the wing. It is not as if he gets a lot of kicks anyway so it wouldn’t damage our rebound.

He needs to watch footage of Tom Lonergan tbh. Lonners was a mediocre ball user too but he knew his limitations so you rarely saw him try inboard passes to the corridor. Any time Kolo tries those little chip kicks inboard he seems to screw them up.

Shark = O’Connor?

Which quarter? Trying to recall that bit of play.

Not withstanding the rest of your post which I agree with, there’s no way MOC should have been on Bolton anyway. He is clearly their most dangerous small inside 50 and MOC has never been a true lockdown small defender. Surely Bews gets first crack at him if we play them against his year.

Yeah this was the worst clanger of the game imo. I think I posted something like "MOC wants us to lose" in response to how bad it was. :shoutyoldman:

It was always going to be sdk and kolo or henry taking the carlton talls not stewart. Where stewart out hurts us is on the rebound but at least we can shift duncan to half back to cover until he is back.

Duncan can rebound. As can tuohy if you play him back. But neither can intercept like Stewart.

He’s going to be a big loss. And games against class forward lines (I.e. Carlton with curnow and McKay) become a lot more difficult without him

I didn't mind the MC giving him a go on Bolton to see how he did, but the crazy thing was allowing that match-up to continue for as long as it did. Why didn't they move MOC off him as soon as it was apparent that Bolton was ripping him to shreds? :drunk:

Why indeed. Make you think.

We reality didn't have a match up for Bolton,Kysaiah Pickett will be challenge in a couple of week time too.

3rd quarter... Felt like the middle of the quarter... It from memory was when we were 14ish points up, but a potentially massive momentum kill move, fortunately we still got the chocolates obviously

This and a couple of other responses were classy and what I would hope for some of our opponents' supporters. Mate, you're welcome any time with that sort of attitude and response. Heck of a game and the Tiges are definitely up and about.

On the other hand, some of the others have been excessively salty and I would hope our supporters don't replicate that sort of stuff on our opponents' boards.
Please don’t welcome them back.
We can’t be salty supporters on there board without a sanction so they can all go
**** themselves.
They know what they’re doing, play the mr nice card

Bolton is in a different league to Pickett, who is all hype no substance at this point of his career.

Or if you prefer, a poor man’s Stengle 😉

Anyone else as befuddled as I was to see Mitch Duncan listed in our bests on the AFL website? He finished with 6 clangers, 55% kicking efficiency and only 3 score involvements. I reckon it was one of the worst games of his entire career in terms of ball use. His uncharacteristic butchering of the ball in the first quarter was one of the main reasons we didn't take as much advantage of our dominance in general play as we should have.

Agreed I was shocked at that match up and could only assumed it frees up Bews to go onto the likes of Dusty and co when drifting forward

Can anyone confirm what Bews was doing for the game?

It’s often due to disposal count.
A lot of people who write these articles don’t watch the game. Look up most touches and goal kickers and list them as such.

Hopefully only 3 weeks but I suspect it's going to be a month. He jumped and connected with the elbow and the repercussion was a concussion which will put Prestia out for the next 2 weeks.
Please show me footage of Stewart connecting with the elbow..

The frustrating thing about these turnovers is he was not advancing the ball or moving it to a better position. He took on all the risk for no opportunity.

It was a tribute to his same one in 2020 Grand Final, also in third quarter.

He is doing a decent job defensively but gee these mistakes are so costly.
He's a slow learner is our Kolo

The big picture is that in the long run it might have been better had the Stewart/Prestia incident not occurred and we'd lost.

Meanwhile Mieirs and Kolo showed again what liabilities they are and O'Connor wasn't much better: i can't see us going all the way with players with their limitations in the team. Unfortunately possible replacements in Stevens, Kroeger and Rohan are for various reasons unavailable. Zac Guthrie was OK.

Atkins has improved out of sight - seems to have more dash these days. I like Henry up the ground - always have - but he'll probably go back to replace Stewart. Sam DEK battled very well and got back on top again. Stanley was quiet. Stengle was great again.

We may see Neale and Ollie in next week.
