When Selwood got injured against Sudbey I thought we were screwed. But to beat Richmond and GWS and bogey team Colljbgwood is amazing. For a two person team we are doing really well with only one of them

Menegola is a legit Wells special. No idea how he was passed by so much. Stewart the same, and Bews after starting his career slowly has become the small defender we were missing

I hope we win the flag from here i feel like given where we are and the weakness of the top teams compared to previous years i feel it will be a massive missed opportunity if we don't.

I remember watching the farewell we gave stevie kelly and stokes at the end of the adelaide game and thinking that was the last time we would contend for a while. Whether we win the flag or not to keep being top 2 with the turnover we had (i think it was 10 or more players off the list at the end of that year) is a credit to the whole club. All of the mature players we brought in since then (danger smith hendo scooter menegola and stewart) were in our top 12 players tonight and to keep the club contending through smart list decisions and coaching is fantastic.

Carter needs to use his AFL contacts all week to campaign for a QF at Simonds (which we deserve). Richmond or GWS won't beat us there and it gives us one foot in the GF.

I still worry about gws on the bigger ground at the G i thought the rare times scully and kelly got on the outside tonight they looked really dangerous and that will be hard to contain on a bigger ground. I still feel we probably have one tall too many to beat either of the NSW teams at the G, assuming selwood is fit we probably need to make the hard call and drop either buzza or kolo (i can't see us dropping blicavs) if we want the best chance of winning the flag.

Great to see hawkins in form he is massive to our flag chances from here.

Great final game against a quality outfit who had something to play for.

Lots of intent early and some good, quick ball movement in the first set the tone. Finished off well in the second half.

Very early in the season I suggested Stewart was a touch over-rated - well, quite clear I know SFA because he has been a bloody beauty and a very astute pick-up by the club. Has gotten better and better as the year wore on and I'm glad he made me eat my hat.

Menegola and Duncan have both stepped up and added some much need help in the middle of the ground. Those who called Menegola early, well f**king done as he has proven to be incredibly valuable and looks very much at ease at senior level now.

I've always thought Bews could play but he has gone the long way round a bit (been made to earn it a little more) but he is now providing, along with Stewart and Tuohy, some good bounce out of defence.

Dangerfield = BEAST!!

Thought Guthrie was good and he has had a good last couple of games and appears to be re-gaining confidence and seems to have a more defined role which is helping.

Mobile Hawkins is something I'm liking a lot and S. Selwood's tackling has given the midfield some real teeth (I feel his attack on the ball carrier rubs off on others).

And then the lesser lights are also travelling better which helps (Murdoch, for all the grief I have given him in the past, has put together a reasonably handy season).

Down note was my boy James Parsons going off injured and not returning. Ugh.

Savor the win but the real stuff starts now.

C'MON CATTERS!!

GWS had everything to play for: a home final.

This win is just as important as our belting of Collingwood, where there was nothing to play for and Malthouse was famous for putting the cue in the rack in the last round.

We buried GWS. I can't think of a reason why they would beat us again this season. Psychologically this will really hurt them.

Menegola Bews and Stewart have been our 3 most improved players this year by a mile, credit to all 3 as they have had to fight very hard to get a spot in the team. We need these middle tier guys to stand up to support guys like danger hawkins selwood duncan etc as you know what you will get from these guys in finals, if our second and third tiers can stand up over the heat of the next month i think we can win the flag.

Murdoch is only just behind them.

Bang on Reg
Stakes were high tonight, nobody left anything on the park
Anyone who wants to undersell that performance can eat a big bag of dicks

dazbroncos the coach doesn't want to sign Menzel because he doesn't provide pressure like Smith, right? That's what I'm saying.

The coach doesn't make decisions about the signing of any player so i am not really sure what your point is.
