That was our best performance of the season for sure and we broke the back of hawthorn in the 2nd half. Basically all positives we didn't have any bad players today highlights parsons was very good (21) disposals 2.1 goals for a 2nd gamer exciting unfortunately he gets 2-3 week freshen up.

We set up well defensively all game realistically even in the first half was scrappy we dominated the football just didnt convert. Lachie Henderson when the game was on was probably our best player before half time finished with (19) and a goal.

Dangerwood sorry what? one of the most encouraging signs from today was that selwood (26) dangerfield (27) lots of contested possessions and definately influenced the game. They were pieces in a team midfield performance mitch Duncan (32) disposals and 2 goals was best on ground for mine his disposal and decision making has been first class all season and this could be his year chris scott has unleashed him. Sam menegola had a huge 2nd half (18) disposals and i question his decision making and kicking under pressure but was faultless after half time finishing with (31) and i goal. Unfortunately he will be under match review panel scrutiny.

Steve motlop (33) possessions obviously a contract year equal career high to go with (3.1) for mine was 2nd best on ground. Cash in king i some times refer to him as played very well. Cam Guthrie looked excellent spending time off half back (27) disposals i think that is his spot. And a guy that can swap with a duncan type and give you some versatility and drive off half back.

The forwards Menzel (3) hawkins (4) continued good form harry taylor looked very good down forward early (0.3) didn't convert. But i much prefer him in that role than rhys stanley at half forward no complaints. I thought he probably should of stayed forward when we got our run on late but he stayed back.

4qtr performance today we dominated the first half just couldn't kick straight. We moved the ball quickly we dominated the stoppages and tom mitchell and burgoyne, isaac smith, billy hartung had very little impact on the match.

Question marks ??? Just because you never rest on a quest for team improvement until your holding silver trophies.

Zach smith was just there today 8 disposals (3) marks in an 86 point win. I think him and stanley are still fighting for the 1 spot available he is a better tap ruck which works in his favour needs to do more to cement his spot.

Jordan murdoch decision making ordinary can run and kick with the football but with motlop in good form. Parfitt on the way up and parsons playing so well today as forward with leg speed and can kick the VFL could be calling (15) disposals and 1 goal.

Tom Ruggles harsh call knocked out by gibbo but guthrie heading back a better ball user and decision maker puts a lot of pressure on him going forward. You gotta be able to kick at half back it is really crucial in modern afl and make good decisions.

Tom stewart (8) disposals 1 goal 3rd key defender kicked a big goal. Just very little impact for a mid sized defender defends well gets to good areas very coachable but kolo played well in vfl and he is on borrowed time for mine.

Jackson thurlow his kicking is a feature and if he finds form could be extremely dangerous one of the best and most penetrating kick in our side. Coming back from a knee takes some time (15) disposals and a goal could be under some pressure. Could be tough love time and earn a spot via VFL.

Best
Duncan
Motlop
Henderson
Menegola
Dangerfield
Guthrie

And the free can of coke for coaches award
J.Parsons

Next

Is sniping Hodge the new Geelong initiation ritual?

Still not convinced..

Neither am I. But that's fine though, I always ignore the first 5 rounds of footy, form doesn't mean a lot in this period, all that matters is winning as much as possible. (There's always one team where the wheels fall off completely after being on fire - hi Norf!).

If Geelong ends up 4-1, that's a great effort and the rest of the season will really tell us if they are the real deal or not...

Im all for Hodge getting smashed but this is not the way to do it. Not good for the game, not a good look, and Hodge got up right after it.

He will get done and should get done for that.

Not related to us really but did the Hawks fold the moment we absorbed their hit and then pushed back end of the 3rd.

From a Hawk perspective that was pretty embarrassing and pretty un-Hawks

Was fantastic to see :D

Almost a carbon copy of the Dean Solomon one on Ling. Not great from the young lad but will hopefully learn from it and bury the good bloke in a hard tackle next time.

He's going to have to take it 'lite n easy' for the next couple of weeks

How about some accolades to Chris Scott today?

When we lose, people come on here and take him apart. Well, when we win big like this, and are 4-0, when similar teams like the Hawks and the Swans, who have been in the premiership window as long as we have, have fallen away.

Admit that Scott is a better coach than a lot of you give him credit for.

Perhaps Parson's has a bit of the Mooney running thru him....
