Every time one of our players is tackled on Friday night they should be instructed to bend their knees and take the tackler to ground. 15 Richmond players suspended for the following game, guaranteed.

We need Carton's lawyer.

If you're talking about the Cripps decision from last year, it wouldn't make a difference - it was pretty much agreed that Cripps was guilty of the charge, but he got off on a technicality which has now been closed

$10k out of the soft cap, and what we've seen an season continues

I can’t say I was surprised (other than as it went on I started to hope).

Cats are professional and will just get on with it. Brad to have a rest and come back strong. Dempsey (I assume) a chance to get a full game on the big stage.

And maybe Clark as sub debut?

Will this be Cats youngest team for years? The 23?

Ceglar running out for his second consecutive match will help bump up our average age, but this would definitely be one of our younger teams for a while

Yes that was one, but they got 2 off this year from memory, one being TDK. I think for the knee on our rucks.

Not to worry, we get Close fresh for the Freo game and this is a great chance for Dempsey to shine.

This Is Fine GIF

Pretty clear what is happening: the AFL cant legislate the tackle/contact out of the game overnight, or it would cause too much anger from the public. So better to gradually adjudicate it out of the game with decisions like this.

One day we will wake up and the tackle will be out of the game, along with any other form of contact, and it will have happened to the sound of our applause as we sleep walk into the future the AFL wants: no contact, which to the AFL means no litigation post career from players and no need to set up any sort of support resources for retired players.

Brad's only realistic option here was to not tackle Dawson, because that is what the AFL wants players to do now.

TDK was originally fined for that, but the club went through the written submission process and had it overturned

It's a different process to the tribunal

Me being a tigers supporter that decision from the tribunal on brad close is a disgrace this game has turned soft how the hell could he stop the player momentum on falling forward the tribunal saying the arms should not be pinned how about we get rid of the tackle already and play touch football it’s a joke this game

Now we wait for a potential Brownlow medalist in Bontempelli/Daicos/Oliver to perform one of these tackles and see the hoops they jump through to let them off. :drunk:

Seriously though, imagine missing a grand final for doing one of these harmless tackles in a prelim. You'd be spewing.
