If you are the greatest there has been a massive underperformance in finals.

Bigger games against harder teams - you have also lost against softer teams.

You have to be favorites comming up against a team with several 18-19 year olds in.

Don't choke again.

Making excuses already? I like that! If your senior players are so crap you have play too many kids, not our problem.

wouldnt mind if west coast give the cats a all mighty scare but i do believe the cats will run away with the chocolates. the other game between hawthorn and collingwood has got me thinking there is going to be a massive upset..... but i hope the two best sides go through

I get the feeling the time is comnig for the Biggest Cat of them all to 'Arrive ' on the AFL Biggest Stage and rip it to shreads for the next 2 weeks .. like the media and everyone is predicting will happen one day .... But he is still only 20!

Come on Down ... MR NICOLAS NATANUI !!!

It would be great to watch .. I am Serious .. If he rips it up ... West Coast could win next 2 games !

NOT YET . Cats by 5+ Goals

19 pages of Geelong supporters with their backs up and Carlton fans blaming the umps for last Saturdays game. *yawn*. Blaming the umpires, we still do that?
Guarantee if Carlton won by 3 points you lot would've been chirping about how 'fair' the umpiring was.

I love the excuses for Geelongs loss to West Coast this season - 'Heavy training load' 'player outs' 'travelling' 'away game'.
Those are some mighty good excuses for a top 4 team that got beaten by the previous years wooden spooners.

I hope for Geelongs sake those 'naughty' umpires don't ref this game.

Selwood and Hawkins are two pretty handy ins.

You saying Nic is a better player than Buddy?

Ottens form of late would suggest that he might dismantle Nic Nat in the ruck...

Only one team has smashed the eagles all year, and that was only 8 goals.

We've dominated patches of every game,

We were up by ~7 goals against you guys in the second quarter, before you fought back well.

I think we'll lose because the Cats are better, well rested, and at home (state). I don't think the cats will smash us, but it will de a decent margin.

Quarter by quarter:

Cats 8
Cats 27
Cats 26
Cats 39

Cats haven't been smashed this year at all... we have kept everygame close... biggest lost is Sydney by 2 kicks....So if Weagles win this one.. odds are it will be under 20 points...

Even last game You where up by 7 goals and we had a chance to still beat you.. if you are up by less after half time can you hold on not at the Subiaco fortress?

Either way I think this will be closer then alot of people think...Hope the Cats win....

Eagles chances of winning/losing rests with our forward line. Think we have one or two mismatches that will cause Geelong some problems. Think they will try get Darling on Scarlett but Darling runs up the field and unlike other talls runs back meaning he needs to be a bit more carefully watched then your average forward. Hunt will be on LeCras which isnt ideal. LeCras should be too pacey for him on the leads. NicNat on Enright wont be ideal. NicNat will be too good overhead. Lonergan on Kennedy will be interesting while Taylor should give Q-Stick a absolute bath. Nico will try and tag Varcoe or Mackie id assume.

You won't be happy. We are the better side + your guys will be spent from the Carlton game = massacre in the first half.

Geelong have an older squad Eagles a younger less experienced one. Maybe your older player need that extra week off;), maybe the younger guys can recover quicker and will have the greater hunger?

Massacre?

Get your hand off it, your not playing Port.

One comment I recall hearing was that regularly one Prelim is a walk over and the other a tight finish. Well I'm now cheering on the Pies to flog the Hawks.;)

As long as its a goor, hard, close contest I'll be rapt.

This game will be won by the team with the right mental application on the day, and thats something us here on BF have no idea on how that will turn out.:thumbsu:

tend to agree, will be tight until half time and then the weeks break will make the difference. Cat's by 30 points

Eagles to be close at half time, if the Cats falter the Eagles will throw the kitchen sink at them - followed by the dishwasher and barbie fridge :D If the Cats stay strong should win by 4 or 5 goals.

Ottens will ruck 100% of the game against both NicNat and Cox. If thats the case he would probably be a late withdrawal from the GF with exhaustion

Ottens has never rucked 100% of a game. Ever

My hard earned is on the Cats. Eagles will be gallant but this is as far as it goes for 2011 I think

Happy if this one turns out to be a replica of Kardinya Park, 2006. Everyone wrote us off then too

As always, Eagles fans have the right to back their own team, as do Geelong

Eagles backing their own team
Geelong backing their own team
Neutrals backing Geelong

Should be a Geelong win, but im not expecting a walkover

i think we're a big chance.

1. we've proven we can beat geelong this year.
2. they don't regular season home games at the G, so the home ground advantage wont be as significant as when we played the pies a week ago
3. they don't have the pace to trouble us, which is the primary reason we struggled to beat the blues
4. expectations are far greater on them
