Can be like baseball with heaps of meaningless games, or like the NFL where every game is so much more important because they play less.

Ideally you play everyone once, there is more integrity in the competition, everything counts for more = more dollars for the game.

How is that more dollars? Less games, less crowds, less eyes on the box, less sponsorship. Gather round!
