As it is currently, imagine we win a PF but Charlie and Cripps are concussed. Both will then be automatically unavailable for the GF.
If there must be a bye this time of year then it should be before the GF, regardless of which teams are playing, to avoid that scenario.
Use that bye weekend for the Brownlow.

With the current concussion protocol in place any player concussed during a PF will automatically be ruled out from playing the GF, but the week’s break would allow the majority of cases to be right the following week.
Worst case scenario are winning PF teams would clear all players of concussion or potentially “marquee” players could miss the biggest game of the AFL year, which I imagine the league would want to avoid.

Only top 4 teams who win their 1st week finals get the week.

Interesting that Craig Bellamy now suggesting that the nrl think about introducing the pre finals bye after the storm and broncos rested 13 & 11 players each in the finals round.
I have a feeling that the pre finals bye will work a treat for us in getting Cripps and Docherty cherry ripe.
Can understand why it's there, can also understand why some wish it wasn't.

Last time we saw Gene was just before the carlton v collingwood game last year. Pity that game had to be cancelled (pretty sure as i have no memory of it) .
Would be great at half time of a twilight game or a night game so it will be interesting during the day. I'm sure that there will be some dinosaur commentary but Kiss are an iconic band, sbsolutely iconic.

The AFL really needs to grow up and accept that clubs will do whatever is best for their team, introducing a bye week and changing the entire dynamic of the finals system because a few clubs rested players was dumb.
Introducing a bye so clubs wont rest players.
Changing rushed behind rules because a team rushed a heap of points in a GF
Changing the 30 second shot clock rule because players were taking 30 seconds.
Just deal with the fact that you can’t control and shouldn’t control everything.
