IMO Quotas are needed to break quotas.

Quite a few setups now are results of unwritten quotas of cliques, sub-groups.

Have seen enough white boys get into underserving positions, because they of their background.

Only hope they recruit talented non-white people for these roles and again don't revert to their other subgroups( pvt school etc).

I would love hiring policies that said ‘if you’re hiring a white guy out of a Big 4 accountancy firm please check if their resume was in crayon’. The amount of absolutely useless white collar types I’ve seen get advanced because of their private school background and experience at one of the Big 4 is depressing. So - reverse quotas could absolutely work. For this sport it could be ‘is the applicant a complete dickhead who yells cliches and spends half the game butchering the English language and bleating about a player’s boots - if so, don’t bloody hire them’.

Just a special for this week only mate - it’s to commemorate the opening of their new facilities.

They should just revert back for good. They’re not going broke any more, Ross Oakley is no longer a thing and I doubt they’d lose fans in Werribee just because they’re not called ‘Western’ any more.

With the AFL changing the rules for the NGA we could have our first case of losing a player to an Academy with Kobe Williams in the Dogs NGA.

If he chooses the dogs instead of us.

Pretty sure Mark is still a huge Hawks man. Don't think we have anything to worry about with Kobe.

At the start of 2022 I wondered if Melbourne might end up going on a Geelong 2007 style burst. That this is mostly the same club as then is crazy.

The ‘backs against the wall, us against them’ mentality can only do so much across a long season. Definitely can produce a good sugar hit in sport but the Demons are showing that it’s not a long term plan.

Wouldn't mind seeing Bonts winning the Brownlow this year, as it'd be well deserved, but bet it'll be bloody Lachie Neale again 🥱

The Demons have their backs against the wall because everyone is calling them underperforming drug fiends, including the coach.

There’s backs against the wall because everyone dismisses your potential and there’s backs against the wall because everyone keeps pointing out the blinding obvious off field issues.

The first kind is very sustainable.

Stupid AFL.
Two games on Friday night.
Thursday night footy? Hello?

Not that stupid - there’s an NRL game in Perth tonight so the AFL clearly put a game on the same night to draw fans away. Amusingly the commentators are saying the NRL game is a sell out despite it looking about 70% full at best.
