No deal for Kelly that's disappointing as we won't get a better deal next year, hopefully Kelly commits to have another good year playing at the club. That might be it for Geelong then, not a bad trade period picking 3 players for not much. Being able to hit the draft with another pick or two would've been ideal let's hope we can do well with pick 12.

Kelly will be traded. Nothing surer.

1. Geelong (like any club), want 100% “buy in” from their group.
2. We will not get a better return next year.

This is exactly why the likes of Kelly and Neale will be traded this year. It is a practical, common sense approach.

1. Kelly is a professional footballer, just like his team mates.
2. Next year is almost here, and we need him playing for us.

But Kelly playing for us is a way stronger position for next year.

They'll still have to trade, paid plus we may get compo based on his salary at WCE too

Wont be a strong position for us if he plays shit next year and his value drops which i wouldn't rule out.

1. Kelly is a professional footballer, just like his team mates. So, he will give 100%.
2. Next year is almost here, and we need him playing for us. Which will be a much better return than a couple of average draft picks.

There is a difference between being professional and 100% “buy in”. Kelly has stated his wish to play for West Coast in 2019. If he is not traded this year, he will be traded next. That is not 100% “buy in” no matter how you spin it.

Tail end of a more broader point from Jimmy where he doesn't think it'd be an issue, players are professionals etc and would move on from it and Kelly will have no issues.

I think a lot of us would agree with the Velvet Sledgehammer on this one.
Sad to see Harry possibly end like this but Father Time waits for no man.

Finally something of sense from him - problem is that others have been saying similar for majority of the season when we watched how Geelong's defence stood up without him.

Sowhile it sounds good, it's not an original thought - and when he says something original it's generally a load of crap
