Umm... Err... So is Clarko... 4 years running...
But he is the Grand PooBah of Coaches. Yes??
We can also chuck in Buckley Longmire Simpson Bevo
See how stupid we both can be??
Cheers

Clarko has 4 premierships under his belt, and still has 3 to Scott's one, if you discount the one he nabbed before CS started.

Even better, he took his side to a 3peat. That is special.

So yeah, I can understand those who assert he's been a better coach than most over the last decade.

you only play 3KPFs if they are all pretty mobile (and 1 can play 2nd ruck)

otherwise you play 3 to have a young KPF develop such as the eagles with Allen

having Hawkins who isnt very mobile and Sav who is more ruck than KPF with someone like Jenkins isn't a good structure

I dont know how mobile Kreuger is but i'd rather carry him as a 3rd KPF than get Jenkins

With Kelly going our midfield wont be strong enough to win a flag anyway

What would you reckon if you could call upon a guy who could control the square pull in 5 marks and kick 2 goals every week you decided to play him?
If he can perform indiscriminately like that you'd have to wonder what he might do if consistently played.
(Well l would)
In my mind l believe he was always going to be the scapegoat "he's a Victorian."
Look at the way they treated Dangerfield in the end.
He might have said something to the coach who knows but l know without him Adelaide went down the toilet this year
There was definitely something more going on, between him and Pyke.

And he responded well each time he was dropped from memory.

He wasn’t actually so terrible that you’d drop him. Esava played worse in a lot of games this year.

Anyway, I like him as depth. You never know - having a three pronged marking forward line would definitely assist in marking Dangers indiscriminate sprays from the midfield.

No way to Jenkins he doesn't even provide any forward pressure, which is paramount in today's game. If he can't hack it at the crows how can he hack it at Geelong, when our forward line is much better?

Adelaide will even pick up part of Jenkins wages in return for a half decent pick say 33, we have to weigh up are we wasting a pick on a short term fix or could we get a long term out of that pick? really up too Wellsy and his views, love their to be a Q & A with wellsy about next 2 drafts and what he thinks...
There is more chance of snow this Xmas than any club parting with pick 33 for Jenkins.

If that is true Hawthorn could very easily be selling their injury rehab reputation and I could see Nakia going there. Bloody Hell.
It’s not even that- you don’t sell it for any player. Nakia is a very special player with a lot of potential, despite all those here who undersell him.

Do will elevate Jackson McLachlan to the main list with late 4th or 5th rd pick
its possible. A few things against him. He's smaller than Caleb Daniel. In VFL he played some MF time that he wont get in AFL side. He is super fast so thats good for hiim but he's behind so many at this point at that role.

And they just delisted JJ who is that exact player - but with more size ...

Im not against Jacko getting a shot - im all for it - but its a LONG road for him. LAst Rookie pick only type deal.

Stop peddling this absolute garbage to suit your narative. He is exactly the same size as Jeremy Cameron. He ain't a third tall he just moves very well. He is a developing KPF and no amount of you trying to spread 3rd forward will change it!
Fairly harsh on his opinion. I’d actually like to see Kreuger play and gauge his potential too.

Size would be an issue but has shown continuous improvement, Rookie spot could be his

Agree with all except last sentence.
Kelly a big loss, but his going will open the door for one of our younger mids to step up (hopefully) Perhaps even Guthrie might stop sulking and play a bit more like we hoped he might. Constable??. Cockatoo may emerge from cryostasis...hope springs eternal.:rainbow:

Don't know why you talk about Kreuger as if he's just going to come in and dominate, he wasn't even called up when Hawkins was rubbed out, and has yet to play a senior game. The kid will need time.
Sav is a hybrid ruck not a power forward, was pushed out of marking contests to easily against Richmond without Hawkins being there.
Should've been free kicked a few times imo but isn't a power forward like Jenkins or Hawkins.

Watching Freddie at the final v Port - he’s not ready. Barely had a touch playing forward - kind of looked a bit rusty, long periods not involved and only got in good positions to mark couple of times and fumbled/was pushed off (admittedly the wind was a little tricky). Think his development is probably half a season behind due to injuries including some concussions. Will need a longish string of consistent games in VFL (Perhaps perhaps 6- 8) without injury to settle into a role.

One thing caught my eye - late in the game he moved around midfield and looked much better - able to put on a couple of tackles and second efforts and then executed a perfect hard, low pun point pass - 50 plus metres. And it wasn’t a fluke- it was natural.

I would be tempted to play Freddie as a highish HF who can exert physical presence in middle and use the kicking skill with the odd drift forward mark. Really needs to build a tank and get that run of games first.

(Ps - when first saw Freddie in the field he looked like Jensen - scary!)

In principle ..I feel that any player we contact for our VFL side should be one we should be happy to see progress to afl..obiously there will be the mature exceptions .. i could see SS perhaps being that next year. I know plenty have Jackson as our best chance this year.. this to me means we really have not had a good group of GFL types running thru our VFL group. 170cm just screams will not make it to me. I think they had high hopes for Alex Cincotta .. and I didnt mind the look of Mitchell late in the year but not a type we are really in need of.

The player who I thought showed something , that could bring something was Dowling. At times his kicking looked good, and other times it looked like he tried to bite off too much .. but id like to see him play with better players around him.

he goes into the draft but gentlemans agreement you dont poach other teams players these days

If that was the case we would have not drafted Kelly. If that was the case ..why take Stewart at 40.. why not juts let him slip to our last pick.

He was ready when he was in form earlier in the year... he got tired and lost form... after the head knock..id say we could have just put him on ice for the year..

last player i can remember being poached was Scott Thompson by North as we waited to draft him late

If there is a nod and a wink.. its not something that has anything really binding too it...perhaps it would have it been made clear to us that he is valued at that sort of range. If other clubs thought Stewart was worth R1.. there would have been no way we get him at 40..
