Make sure we do the Cameron Deal 1st

Pick 11 + Sav + 2021 2nd Round

Cameron + GWS 2020 3rd

If Clark wants to go to Freo

Clark + GWS 2020 3rd

Pick 10

That way we keep our noses in front of GWS in the draft

In - Cameron Pick 10
Out - Sav Clark + Pick 11 + 2021 2nd Round

Must make sure that Cameron is signed off and then open negotiations with Fremantle and not before other wise GWS come for both Pick 10 + Pick 11

end of R1... hello to our friends at the Adelaide Football club..

Bet you any money the Crows get pick 21 and don’t match.

And there won’t be a single outcry even though I’ve been told 1000 time’s Crouch is worth a late teens pick. Which funnily enough the Saints have. Crows know other clubs just won’t budge

Herald Sun reporting Geelong will call the Giants bluff and let him slide through the preseason draft if they won’t take the compo pick. For all the hype, he’s 28 next year. No way the Cats are giving up 2 first round picks for a full forward who may not play any longer than Hawkins.

Not sure how long that thread is but its all based on ensuring P2... ...

If they match the deal he has to sign the contract doesn't he? 🤔 Or does he remain uncontracted and refuse to sign it? 🤔
How many clubs would be able to afford him who could take him before us since we'll have pick 17 or 18

Is this where clever accounting comes into it where we frontload

they’re referring Carlton taking Martin in the PSD after the Suns “drew a line in the sand” essentially he’s out of contract. So just refuse to sign ans enters the pre season draft with his contract terms stipulated. Giants can of course draft him first given the fact they have a pick before us. Would be a cluster**** if they did though, basically taking a player who doesn’t want to be there, on what will be a fat contract. The part I’ve loved here finally, is that someone from Geelong has clearly leaked that Wells won’t be pushed into giving up first round picks here. The Giants have chosen to play this out in the papers, and Wells has returned fire with fire

That is exactly the play. Clear as day

Sabre rattling? We can do it that way ..if you want to etc? I suspect we are willing to trade and not expect them only to take comp but for something a lot less than they have floated.

Am i the only one that would be ok with trading Clark to Freo for pick 10? I think as a defender he is a liability to be honest, yes has pace but struggles on the defensive side and who knows if his shoulder will ever be the same.

I was thinking a little like this but remember the kid has never actually had AFL pre-season with cricket commitments when younger & injuries since been drafted then go watch his debut season highlights, he’s raw but the potential isn’t one you give up on.

Absolutely terrible. Horrendous actually

Seeing we had the money for Crouch and his chosen St Kilda, would you throw a first at Adelaide for Rory Laird? 🤔
26yo jet off HB or can go into the midfield. Would take 2e spot in the team and still has a a good 5-6 years left in him.
Will be a FA next year and has currency for Adelaide this year

I might be missing something, but I don't understand why they can't take the compo pick and then we do a secondary trade that favours them (without reaching draft-tampering levels)? That could work out for both teams.

Someone who knows competition picks better than I know.
On the AFL app, trade video with Mitch Clearly said " with Crouch nominated St Kilda on a 5 year 750 g a year, Adelaide will most likely get pick 2.
How would Giants not pick 2 for Jeremy Cameron?

Because the band is a pick after their first pick. Adelaide have 1 so its 2. Gws had 8 so its 9.

Wecan if all parties are willing.

How is it Horrendous that appears to be two very good deals because we still end up with 3× 1sts as well as Cameron

Sav would be playing 2nds in 2021 given Stanley current form and Cameron coming to the club

Rumors swirling that Jordan Clark wants to go home and if we can get a Top 10 pick for him why not

Unless you can come up with a better deal

By the way the deal layed out for Jezza is basically the Danger deal with with Sav leaving instead of Dean Gore

Its better than the other option which GWS want which is to include Parfitt in the deal

The word I have on Sav is that he’s unhappy at geelong. Has senior players into his. Constantly about his less than amazing work ethic and the reason he’s inconsistent is his poor work ethic/laziness. Don’t be surprised to see him moved on.

Gws will have 9 for williams anyway.

Clark is contracted and worth more than pick 10.
I woukdnt trade him anyway.

I dont see GWS as a good fit for Sav anyway.
It's a problem with GWS and their apparent demands for players.

Where exactly does Sav fit in? They have Riccardi, Finlayson, Himmelberg in the forward line and now Pruess in the ruck.

Why is Sav agreeing to a trade where they were dropping some of those forwards throughout the season. Doesn't make sense to me.

For Parfitt it's the same deal. Tom Green who performed so well - and who they gave up so much just to get ahead of a bid last national draft - can't even cement a spot and he's supposedly the future of their football club.

Doesn't make sense to me

For all the hype, he’s 28 next year. No way the Cats are giving up 2 first round picks for a full forward who may not play any longer than Hawkins.

I think we do have to remember he is a power forward, not a midfielder. Key Forwards tend to mature later and play longer, as is the case with Hawkins now, at 32 is probably playing some of his best football. How long that carries on for is anyone's guess but there is no reason to think he wont be as dominant next year and the year after as he has been this year.

Cameron at 28, will be in his prime for another 3-4 years at least, and possibly a year or two long with a slight role change to be a more stay at home forward.

As i and others have said though, we have to remember this years draft has been destroyed by the covid shutdown of junior footy in Victoria. Id have no problem giving them two first round picks this year.

Wecan if all parties are willing.
Once the dust settles do you think this will end up being the end result?
Take the compo and we'll work something out. Or do you think we'll stick to our guns now they want to play this out in the media

On a side note i think it was Cook that said the club is constantly approached by agents to get players to Geelong, do you expect any other players to come in that we haven't been linked with in the media? 🤔
