Mentioned on Andy Mahers show. I’d be gobsmacked and pissed off if true. Grain of salt and all I know but..

Sounds like you may have misheard it. Not a peep on Twitter, Facebook, GWS board, the main board, or from any reporter - who would be all over this if true

Andy Maher mumbles a lot lol, so it could have been 'Parfitt agreed to terms with Geelong, GWS requested' etc.

His manager isn't going to publicly refute it, then accept terms the very next day. First of all, not enough time to even come up with a contract offer, second, not enough time to confer, talk to both clubs and weigh up a move - all while preparing for a GF that's 2 days away.

More likelihood of Dodo being easy to deal with this trade period, than any of that happening

Yeah that sounds much more likely. Maher can be a bit dopey, but he'd have to be on some serious hallucinogens, or have info no-one else does (even Parf's manager), to be able to come out with that

All is well :)

Yeah ok. Just had the flog Brereton on saying he doesn’t no where Geelong can fit JC in - no mention of Kelly money etc. no wonder I only listen the week we are in a grand final.

Never, ever listen to Derm. That man hates Geelong more than any of us can fathom. Absolute obnoxious knob to boot as well

Caldwell nominates the Bombers...why would anyone want to go there.

Wait for GWS to ask Dodo for two 1st rounders, next years 1st plus a player like Merret or Heppell. We all know thats what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot.

Money and gametime.

Think everyone misheard Maher, I was listening as well, it all got caught up in between him and Brerton gobsmacked as to how Geelong can afford Cameron, they both have no idea, Maher then went on to say “GWS will get Parfitt”, but then a few moments later said something like Parfitt is about to agree to terms *mumble mumble mumble, good news if you’re a *mumble mumble.

Think that’s why some have taken it as agreed with GWS.

Have had a few, and wasn't sure where to post this - but thought I'd share what is probably my favourite thing I've ever written on BF

"Dodo is living somewhere rent free alright - in a house made entirely out of his own ego and delusions of grandeur, that you guys built him

What he doesn't realize though, is that the house has collapsed and he's been sitting in a pile of his own filth, making 'winning' trades with the various stray animals sniffing around what remains of his fragmented legacy - all whilst those same faithful Essendon supporters kneel down on the ground and worship their smelly God

🤪"

One player is sure GWS should have a think about trying to get from us.
Fogs
If they can get him fit he’d play for them
Not a big deal if we lose him

What Fogarty has is the ability to extract the ball, which is a rare skill. He has other weaknesses, I know, but I’d be hanging on to him for at least the last year of his contract.

It’s possible he’ll request a trade. If so, they’ll have to make a decision. Now we aren’t getting Couch we’ll need midfield back-up.

Doesn’t seem a skill we rate that highly at least not in our younger players, to be honest if Stephens doesn’t go whoooosh straight past Fogarty that pick is going to smelling pretty rancid.

I do like him as a player but I think he’s a player we can afford to let go at this stage

I think GWS need this cull of players (even if a lot aren’t by choice), the place seems to have gone stale. They need to starting playing their younger guys in important roles rather than just around fringes.

Just posted this on the GWS trade board, let me know what you guys think:

*******************************

Interesting scenario it creates if someone like Tom McDonald might want to go to you guys on very high wages, and someone like Higgins wants to come to us, on high wages.

There could be a way here where essentially everyone wins.

Here's my proposal:

Higgins on 600K
McDonald on supposedly 700-800K
Cameron being offered 750-850K

4 clubs in North, Cats, Giants and Melbourne get involved and help out each other with various benefits being incurred.

Net end result is -

North: give up Higgins & 1 MIL-1.1 MIL - 700/800K K for McDonald and 300K for Higgins - & receive our First Rounder - Pick 11 or 13 (they have so much cap that they might not even be able to meet the minimum - especially with Brown going)

Melbourne: Salary dump of McDonald, paying none of his contract, for our pick 33

Geelong: Give up pick 11 or 13, Pick 33, receive Cameron and Higgins

Giants: Give up Cameron, receive McDonald for nothing, and gain Pick 9 - effectively gaining a high pick, a replacement key swingman and 750K of cap space

*********************

Raw Trade Outline:

Geelong:

OUT: Pick 11 or 13, 33
IN: Cameron, Higgins

North

OUT: Higgins, 1 MIL-1.1 MIL
IN: Geelong Pick 11 or 13

Melbourne

OUT: McDonald and 700K+
IN: 700K freed up in salary cap, Geelong Pick 33

Giants

OUT: Cameron
IN: McDonald (salary paid) Pick 9 compo

***********

Satisfies a need for everyone, whilst Giants get a replacement player for no salary and utilizes the compo pick effectively
Dreaming is the word that comes to mind. We are playing 2 1St rounders for Cameron and probably a players as well.
