Yes on Jackson McLachlan
But No to Darcy Lang
It won't be popular, but we have to consider adjusting some salaries ( pushing say some of dangers/ camerons salary back into 2023,2024) to fit in Will Brodies salary.
I really think we can do 19,22, Will Brodie for our 2022r1. Gold Coast have a crunch on list spots, and want to trade into next year's draft.

rather we took the hit for Coniglio and see if we can get him back to his best

I dont think we will give up our 2022 first rounder let alone for Will Brodie..

I heard it but not confirmed that Selwood took a massive cut in his salary to help the club out. Maybe the club's culture is ok with that, and maybe guys will be approached to consider it

...only because no one else would want him. Fact of life.
I know I'm in the minority of being a Constable fan.. I just love the inside tough midfielder.. as I would say that was what I played like in country football. ( not a good footballer I was ) I just like blokes who win the hard ball like Constable

If my boy Constable can't get a game, Will Brodie won't get a game at Geelong...

Think about how hard and long Melbourne had to tank to finally not screw up their picks and end up with a great team. It would take some masterful recruiting and our boys taking some of David Sinclair's best anti-aging gear for us to have a bees dick chance of getting close next year.

I'm still waiting for the Jeremy Cameron off season surgery to repair whole body story - the poor bloke looked like a cripple out there... I really hope that's not his normal state and we paid full market rates for a broken down horse.

Wow...ok. I always think of him as a slow, physically underdeveloped player with a big heart. Never once has he struck me as remotely physically tough. But ok...

Go back and watch the 2011GF and have a look at Hawk's kicking then. Kicking can be fixed, you can teach routine and a better ball drop. You can't teach people to take pack marks.
Yep, but Hawkins took about 10 Mark in the game about the same that the Rat has taken this year.

So Clark is the next Cerra and Krueger is leaving. Chook is shopping around. So we are left with the oldies that can’t get it done in September!
2022 many oldies will leave and we’ll have nothing! Probably low 8 next year or miss finals then 2023-2028 gonna be bleak.
Oh dear
Should’ve started last year with 3 first rounders and get rid of Scott. Hawks , crows and Roos are 2-3 years ahead of us and counting!
Thanks Captain-positivity.

Absolute garbage, since when does a club need 6 Luke Hodges or Max Rookes in their backline?

Let's look at the two GF teams - how much of a hard edge do Christian Salem, Trent Rivers, Bailey Dale or Jason Johannisen have? Could it be that each of those players has a role to play, which may include utilising pace and/or skills?

I think you’re missing the point. Tim Watson wasn’t literally saying Clark needs to be a hard man, he was being polite and not so subtly saying Clark is soft as butter. If you saw his performances this year you’d have to agree.

Strap yourselves in for a stupid suggestion

James Tsitas just won the Margarey medal
Luke Partington 3rd I think

Couple of rookie list spots that could maybe be spent worse than that

Don't stress neither did Tom Hawkins early on.
Patience Grasshopper Patience.

Hawkins was miles, miles, MILES better than Ratugolea from his very first game. His kicking was 99% confidence and self-belief (like most of his game really) until the last quarter of 2011 and then 2012. At one point in 2012 (before he hurt his back) he didn't look like missing.

It's an inaccurate argument to compare the two. Hawkins showed more from the start, and was better from the start.

So Freo think he's not worth more than Pick 27 even though he's contracted, hey?

Interesting that the article headline states 'Freo names their price.' Given he's our player, I woulda thought that, ya know, we'd name the price...crazy concept I know.

Let the games begin!

Exactly, why don’t they say pick 40, who cares we will decide what he is worth and they can take it or leave it.

No No No No.... Constable will be a Geelong player next year...... Please 😒

He doesn't look too bad in a Bankers uniform 😉

I can see Constable either being a late deal as the trade period is about to finish for a team that has some open spots on their list, or potentially a very late 1 season offer from Geelong with the knowledge that if it clicks they can offer him a longer deal next year or delist to open a spot ahead of what's expected to be a better draft

This is the third consecutive trade period where he's looked at his options and the third consecutive trade period where it's seemingly crickets in terms of external interest -doesn't really bode well for Constable

Seriously? He looked great when he played 2-3 goals a game. We just need to move the ball quicker and he will kick heaps of goals for us.

But we get 19,22 as well. If we are going really really badly next year, we would have a reasonable pick in the mid season draft to slightly offset the risk we do a Collingwood next year
That's if they have a mid-season draft next year and we keep a spot open to select someone - we haven't yet participated in a mid-season draft nor the supplementary draft before the start of the season, so will be interesting to see if change tact on that front
