I suspect Bowes once expressed a like for Danger’s very physical sense of humour - using props such as crutches, bandages and Zimmer frames, and makeup.
They have the same manager thats literally the only connection they have.

Ahhh my bad. I honestly was going off second hand info, as she deleted the tweet, and some people must have been making it worse than it seemed - using the word 'abuse' many times
I may have also missed one... But the tweet I saw was incredibly lame and mocked for that reason

Is their a bigger hypocrite than Graham Wright?

He's such a d*ck, lol. Relic of a leftover era, from all the Clarkson/Fagan/Kennett/Burt 'mafia' as they've been referred to by the whistleblower assistant coach. Would not surprise me at all if he starts getting annoying over this. Problem from him though, as you've informed us many times, is that Ollie is chasing us, not the other way around. They'll have a disgruntled player on their hands and we'll just keep our pick and see him in a year or two.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you're bringing in 4-5 players yourself during trade period, and then cracking it over 1 leaving, you really are a fool.

What's he saying?

Taaryn Thomas would be a much better target than bruhn or Henry for us. He had a shocking yr but north are rabble at the moment.

A big X factor clearance mid. I think we as a club can get the best out of him.

He’s shown to be a superior player to bruhn and not sure Henry fills a need.

What's he saying?

"Collingwood football manger Graham Wright said the club hasn't spoken to Geelong about a trade for Henry yet, but will have a conversation during the trade period.

"Ollie is a young, second-year player from Geelong. His brother plays at Geelong. There is a bit of a pull down the highway, even though it's only an hour or forty minutes up here," Wright said at Marvel Stadium on Monday.

"We are a bit disappointed, but we understand the reason why.

"We’d really like to retain him; we're going to try and keep him. We'll have a conversation with Geelong and see where that goes."

What little chance there was of Ollie staying, would have gone with their resident insider and training watcher Jen2310's massive outburst (now deleted) and her behaviour at the Copeland. People have lost it at him, so there's no chance he'd feel comfortable going back, IMO

thats unprofessional and hypocritical. Say what you want about the Dogs..the way it was handled with Dunkley was professional. Every single club loses players they would prefer not to... maybe im vindictive id be tell them Im now investigating North ad my fall back after the way he was treated.

It's ok to target players from other clubs but nobody can target ours. 🤦

Just wanna say that I'm pretty happy that we don't extend players with 6/7-year deals willy nilly like the Dees and the Blues.

I would be interested in who drives those deals and for what reason. Whether it is the clubs or the player managers that push it. Do the clubs want them locked in for that long to avoid free agency and think the cap will just keep growing exponentially so by the time they hit the last couple of years of the deal what they are earning is not actually that much or whether it is the player managers that push it for the long term security and to cash in on current form in case they suddenly get injured or lose all form. You could argue for and against the deals from both parties perspectives.

If I have to hear one more person talk about how long it takes to get from Melbourne to Geelong....

heck me dead, it ain't about the travel time folks! Never has been.

It speaks to how we operate as a club that when people from Geelong have been asked about the suns deal they have spoken about the person involved rather than the pick. It doesn’t mean we haven’t been interested in the pick or that it was an after thought.
But the pick is a commodity the player is a person and they should be treated and spoken about differently exactly as the club is.

Personally ... IF we have to split the pick I will be a little disappointed but if thats what we have to do to ensure we live up to commitment then so be it. What Port have done toe graham does not feel right somehow.

It will get down to who Bowes sees the next half of his career being best at. So ..id ask... after 6 years at Gold Coast ... do you want to go to Ess and Haw and spend some more years rebuilding?

Yeah, once a player says he wants out not sure you want to keep them on the list. I know we did that with Kelly and he played great football but we knew it was just a season and he'd be out. Fr team harmony you want players who are committed

He was also contracted. Pies won't offer nor will Ollie accept a 1-year contract knowing full well he'll just request a trade next year.

He'll be unhappy, already not in their best 22 with McStay, Hill, etc coming in to add to the waiting line at his position.

The deal will get done, just a matter of what and when.

If it's such an easy commute then why can't the Pies just come down here for home & away games? Or does it not work that way?

Wright is full of hypocrisy and double standards, always has been

And they never get it right.
40 minutes FFS!? On what, a helicopter?!
Most players live down the coast, which is 25 minutes (or longer) from the Geelong CBD, NOBODY lives on the Geelong side of Melbourne, so even if you go with Port Melb or something, it's nearly 2 hours away.
Like you said, the travel isn't the issue, but it's so frustrating hearing BS like "it's only 40 minutes down the road!", no it ****ing ain't.

Thomas lacks work ethic. Not a fan personally.

Besides no chance they trade him with jhf wanting out. Not this year anyway.

Problem is, Jen is just someone involved with the club, but not in a professional aspect. They can't really be held responsible for her actions. With that said, it is just such a bad look, from someone who was actually at the Copeland.

Btw, there's a tweet going around of Ollie looking very unhappy, which I assume probably coincided with all this (that's definitely the face of someone that wants to stay, loll):

I wonder if he's at the Cattery or if we are going to or have already met with him?

Mackie said we have already met with him.
Cameron said he was meeting other clubs today (i assume essendon but thats a guess) and then deciding.

Its partly avoiding FA but also longer term deals allows them to frontload/backend to maximise cap space (ie tigs have no cap space now but are backending taranto and hopper over 7 yrs for when they will have space).
It also allow players to leverage the threat of FA to get long term security in deals.
