And they never get it right.
40 minutes FFS!? On what, a helicopter?!
Most players live down the coast, which is 25 minutes (or longer) from the Geelong CBD, NOBODY lives on the Geelong side of Melbourne, so even if you go with Port Melb or something, it's nearly 2 hours away.
Like you said, the travel isn't the issue, but it's so frustrating hearing BS like "it's only 40 minutes down the road!", no it ******* ain't.
I live in Norlane, for the easy commuting around the local shops. No dumb bike lanes around 3214!

But yeah, the vast majority of Geelong's players live around the coastal areas, a few in Newtown as well. Don't think anyone's found themselves in 3214 as a Cats player even though that may be a 45 minute commute to Telstra Dome on a good day.

Peter Riccardi did back in the day.

Norlane? Thought they would have nuked that place by now.

Heaps of players used to live there. Even an
Australian test opener.

Floyd, card, Neil, hynes. Just off the top of my head.

Peter Riccardi lived in my court in Corio back in the day. I used to have a kick with him from time to time.

GWS have picks so many picks this year already 6000+ points worth (clearly the most in the comp) and still with Hopper to trade out.

It'll be impossible to play hardball with the Bruhn trade because they simply will have so many decent picks coming out of their butts that they really can play hardball with us.

Feel like it would be very handy for us if they were into some players to bring in to eat up some of their draft picks.

Anyway, I feel our F1 is overs for Bruhn on its own & hope we can get something half decent back if we end up offering it.

Would like our 37 + F1 for GWS' 21 (which is their 4th pick this year).

Probably wishful thinking... As per usual... Time will tell.

What's Ollie Henry worth in your eyes? Do you think he gets traded?

Pies fans are a mixed bag and a bit bullish given the Bruhn trade that will also require a first rounder.

Most of the Collingwood contributors on the massive Trade and FA thread believe that if an adequate trade isn't found, Henry will either re-sign for on a one year deal OR the club will walk him off to the PSD and he'll end up at Norf.

He doesn't want to play for Collingwood.

Pick 18.

I don't think that phases most Pies fans. He apparently wouldn't risk not signing with Collingwood as he'd likely end up at Norf.

Almost a growing attitude that a trade won't be struck and he'll magically re-sign or send him to the PSD.

That won’t happen, I know it’s disappointing for Pies fans to lose a good young player.
It would be pretty silly for Pies to miss out on a decent pick. He’s not worth more than that and he’s not going to stay. The likelihood of him not signing them going to Nth in the psd is pretty slim.

That's ok, he'll get to Geelong eventually. Not a pressing need at the moment anyway.

Certainly would be more than half a chance to get to us in the National Draft anyway with that pick.

Ironically like the way the Pies got Luke Ball.

I think we will get Henry no worries in the end... Bruhn is the one I worry will end up costing more than he is worth due to GWS already having a million good draft picks.

I am sure Shsdow snd CE are both happy their "debate" has reached an end and they csn move on to other more important issues...

I know i am...
Killjoy!

Was enjoying Shadow with catempire on the ropes. But...

**** catching all that up. Cliffs someone. ;)

Agreed. The recent integration and development (in some cases) of Cameron, Stengle, Close, Miers, Holmes, Smith, Zuthrie and SDK has been crucial. Runners, all capable of wizardry and high skill in tight or out in space. Completely transformed how we could transition from defence to attack and our entire forward line method. Was beautiful to see evolve.
Agree also. Personnel is the factor, clearly. In the last 2 years, particularly 2022, Cameron and Stengle and Close add about 150 goals to Hawkins' 67 goals. That is insane forward line potency. I can't recall any other team in history beating that from your top 4 forwards.
(No doubt someone will say Buddy, Roughead, Gunston and Breust have beaten that, but I couldn't be bothered finding it.)
As you say, the EVOLUTION in 2022 of Close, Stengle, Atkins, ZG, DeK, Holmes is what was lacking in other seasons, and it takes the pressure off all individual efforts, whether that's Rohan, Danger, Miers etc.

Wouldn’t surprise me if other clubs are talking saying let’s hold Geelong to ransom so we can’t get deals done
I thought the same when Hawks were getting free hits with Scully,Patton,O’Routke etc as well as free agents

Sounds like all our deals will take time, maybe Bruhn or Bowes to be one of the earlier ones.

I suppose Bowes nominates his destination club in next 24 hours it seems. Let's see.

I'd say Pick 18 will be for Henry, with perhaps a future 3rd rounder back with Henry is my guess.

Bruhn will be a Future first round pick, maybe with a future 3rd rounder back.
