you've lost old man, hopper is going to the tiges. Geelong, so weak, so vulnerable. SO easy to steal a trade target right from under their nose.

Don't you just love to see it? The Tuggers have reached the point where they'd prefer to win trade week than premierships.

It's beautiful to witness.

Would take Dunkley over Hopper and Taranto any day, doubt it happens though.

Who knows? if we miss on the already known targets he might be an option.

1,Dunks.
2,Denis .
3, TT.

Tigers have meet with Hopper.
We were keen on Hopper before.
Piss of Richmond.

We cant lose something we never had. Thanks for playing.

For the next ten plus years, Richmond will be the team that hand delivered us Max Holmes…thank you 🙏

I’ll call it now

We will get parish this year

Parish might want to come but essendon would want a huge haul to trade him this year. Cheaper to wait 12 months.

I just watched it, I don't think he's laughing because he's confident he's laughing because he knew he'd be asked. Then I think maybe he gets his wires crossed with taranto where he said he was coming home. Then he just says they'll try to make him a richmond player, which, of course, that's why they're meeting him.

Maybe he nominates richmond tomorrow, I mean nothing to stop him now that they're out of the finals campaign. But, I doubt the visit changes much
I wouldn’t be surprised if he meant Taranto.

Will GWS match? The timing is really weird for them.

Do they let Taranto go and try and get a end of first round draft pick compensation? And then trade hopper out and get our near end of first round draft pick?

Or match Taranto and then make Richmond trade their mid first round pick? Then they can maybe keep taranto knowing they’ll trade hopper out and have the salary cap space. Or Richmond pay up and then they can keep hopper. Or if both go, then their draft picks end up better.

They match every day of the week. 750k per year would be end of first round. They can do better

Key forwards are worth more than mids so i wouldnt pay as much for hopper as jez.
On the future 1st its more my preference yes it can pay off eg holmes but it can also backfire (see coll trading an FR1 as a top 5 pick)..with our ageing list we might drop at some point so id not want to risk trading the FR1. He is worth more than 18 alone though. Id offer say 18 + 36 or 18 + a FR2 (maybe throw in our R3 if we have to) but not 18 + a future 1st. If thats their price id let them keep him or find another club.

I honestly do not see much bettween our values on him ... you would trade an R1 and a R2... Id trade two r1's and get a R2 back... and this year GWS R2 is 21..so who knows what their Fr2 is worth in 2023.

Anyway probably a discussion for when. he definetly says he wants geelong. Seems like Tigers are in it up to the teeth.

Id pursue mitchell 100 x times before worpel (not that i want mitchell either but just saying).

Would either really give us much. Looking at the way Atkins has developed, and Zac Guthrie.. and the way we have intergrated a DFA in Stengle. If we miss out on Hopper...maybe we look at someone else delisted like the kid just flicked from Carlton. .... and weren't we linked to the other Carlton kid?

If Hopper goes to Rich...and Bruhn to Haw... then it gives us a chance to reassess needs.... and look at who else we might bring in.

I have no idea which way it will go but I think it would be negligent of Hopper if he is leaving to not meet all potential suitors. Doesn’t mean he’s cooled necessarily on us. It sounds like there’s been a lot of work put in to land him for a while. All I’m saying is that it’s rare we don’t get our man.
How many have met with us over the years... I remember Watts for one was blown up. Just due diligence to look at all options id have thought.

Theres many options (just not all at the same quality level)..crouch will go, mitchell probably will, dunkley is still unsigned etc. Thats before you look at kids like bruhn who are clearly available. Fwiw i think we will get hopper anyway. But theres lots of midfield options.

Ruck is a bigger worry for me as apart from grundy theres no real A grade rucks likely to be on the trade table.

Interesting? Id not be overly worried at all about ruck unless we know we have a big hole for 2023. Stanley and Ceglar would seem able and good enough in 2023 with some games blooding Neale and Conway

Long term i like 2 young options we have on our list .. and id not be surprised if eventually Sdek ends up in the ruck

Trading in someone like Meek is possible if they get Jackson as a more ready to mid 20's type ruck IF we really feel vulnerable ... but. A grade? probably fair point .. but waht I have seen of him he should be ready to play ...he is 25 in april and is stuck behind Darcy and then Jackson

If you’re talking about from SEN this morning, that was literally a random who texted in saying “Parish to Hawthorn”. Even the host of the trade segment had heard nothing about that.
We should start texting random s* in too.

Lynch to the Dogs. Pendles to North. Neale to the crows

Sometimes I think it new coach in wanting his players. Look at what seems to be happening at North. Is Parish that similar to Mitchell? Im not sure I can say I have really compared them.

They're both undamaging vanilla accumulators, who don't kick goals or take contested marks.
