I have a gut feeling that Bruhn would prefer the big smoke and city lights of a melbourne based club... I'm not sure he wants back to his hometown.

John Ralph said yesterday. His preference is to play in Melbourne not Geelong.

He did say that’s not final but doesn’t sound like it’s been his life long dream to play for the Cats.

Not every Falcon want to come to Geelong. Some want what you say. Big games. Big Crowds. After GWS.. I could see him wanting play for a bigger club...

Would North have more appeal than Geelong? Thats almost a choice that say he did not want to be in geelong the location...

or could it be..that someone like North might be able to offer him more game time..and more $$$$

It's interesting to me that other players are already nominating clubs once they are out of finals. Bruhn has not.
So perhaps its down to Collingwood or Geelong?

few media reports around saying that Hoppers preference is the Richmond offer but still willing to go to Geelong and is leaving it up to GWS now. With all the celebrations and shit talk from the Tugs it'd be hilarious if they didn't get him

That seems a bit strange if we’ve offered less money and less years.

Probably dependant on whether a deal can be done with what’s left after the Taranto trade. Also puts pressure back on the Tigers to do a suitable deal as he’s prepared to go elsewhere.

If it's at the point he's said he wants to be at Richmond then that's it. We won't come back to the table just because of the sheer amount of work we'd currently be doing on other plans now. The ship has changed course once, too late to change again

Happy to have a small wager we lose Menegola in this years trade period

Remembering he was on the Essendon recruit board a few years back, the talk of 2E to GC has risen

Menegola would be good for GC IMO
I hadn't even thought of that. If he leaves I hope he gets a pay day out of it

They don't really have a choice even if their players want to stay. 95% cap floor means that they have to be within 700k of a club that is right on the cap
Their best players are getting more than they would at contending teams.

So, at this stage no one is coming to Geelong? Obviously ramp up after finals but looks like we missed on all the top targets, why, because other teams will pay more or provide longer contacts to attract players?

Maybe no one is coming to the cats, but also maybe no one is declaring their intent while the cats are still playing.

Disrupting a tilt at a premiership is not a great way to win over your new team mates

You can front load contracts to meet the 95% minimum, the "we are shit tax" forces teams to overpay to retain and recruit.

Hopper has passed on us twice... He can be gone and stay gone!
Yep. He made his choice. We now need to move onto other targets. Can't have him being a small possibility when we now need to revise our targets. Can't miss out on other players waiting for a deal with Tigers to possibly fall over.

Let's focus on others that want to be here and that can make a difference to our team.
