What we need is a dirty ruckman like Crossley he would make the kids stand tall around him, but we won't

Culture issues with that one but yes talent wise hes good enough imo.

There's fewer A grade ruckman than clubs.

A passable KPD that releases Blitz to support is a far more realistic prospect

Agreed although i noticed teakle played well again yday (admittedly wce could barely field a team so not a great oppo) so theres ruck options but a mature ruck or kpd in msd has to be an absolute must. No henry no ceglar and a half fit stanley iskilling us. When sdk inevietably needs rest it will be even worse.

We can not just think about a player for now, has to be about our future also

When the game was there to be won Rhys Stanley was wondering around aimlessly 100m away from his opponent who kicked two goals in a row and sealed the game.

At least find one who competes.

Nup. He’d have to show more for it to involve our R1. The halo of his draft position is nearly gone.

Yep..if its OK to spend three R1s and get something back for Cameron.. and say its only equal to X... then its Ok to do the same for a kid who is still developing. In theory.

For accuracy It requires a better judgement of the draft and who we may be able to draft with our natural pick..and the value of the pick and who we might be able to draft with the pick we get back.

The kid that a lot are saying to take Clark, if he is there at our pick...If as reported to be a Bruhn type anyway then to trade for Bruhn is better value than drafting a kid who will lose value in the first couple of years.

In the end it depend on what our draft number is..if we keep sliding then our pick will no longer be a late r1 and that obviously that changes calculations

I just want to ask this question, and please don't shoot me down as I love this player so much ❤

Tom Hawkins... should he keep continuing playing next year.. His one of our best players thats played for us, but is it worth him playing next year, as tbh we aren't contending next year, and is that position his at what Neale that might play as he may think I won't get a game if Hawkins is there..
Hawkins in the form his in could keep playing year by year as his like a bottle of red win, keeps getting better with age...
But I'm only having a small thought for the future...

If we had a second Hawkins type being kept back, perhaps we could make a call but I do not see him holding anyone back atm.

I assume your mean able to come into the side at some point? Here's a comprehensive list:

Ready to play a role:
Sav
Neale

Not the role we intend but can do it:
Ceglar

Comprehensive list of key defenders that can come into the side at some point:

Sav is useless.

I had Neale as a 2nd ruck / forward?

Neale won't ruck. He's a forward. Sav may be Jarrad Whaite 2.0 but we simply don't have the drafting resources to replace him with anything better.

Unless we lose Neale it would be a dereliction of duty to spend anything on a forward, unless it's a mid or ruck who can impact forward, for the next 2-3 years.

Before that we need to draft 2 kpds, a trade/free agent back up ruck, and draft like 5 midfielders maybe add Bruhn if we're lucky.

Cameron vs an unproven kid. Nah.

Fair enough.

I can't watch him so have to rely on others for their assessment.

That said, I saw some concern here recently that he could be lured away??

Sav might be all we have, but I reckon a wombat would do better for us in the ruck.

I think some of Savs ruck work has been OK, but I don't have high expectations for him to meet. At this point he appears to have a limited skill set but when he's played a deep forward in the past without other kpfs to compete with he's been OK.

Concern on Neale is driven mostly by the amount of time he's spent back in Perth, and watching his insta he is pretty friendly with some freo guys. He shared a personal trainer with a bunch of them one the summer

Hmm, it'd be a blow if we lost him too.

The cliff is nearing... We just don't have enough quality kids to hold us up when these older experienced players give it away.

Need to get very, very lucky and have a couple of seriously good drafts or we certainly won't be contending for a while.
