Ask and we'll try our best to assist - so here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

As normal, would like to acknowledge & thank Lore for creating this, keeping it up to date and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft

The reported Perryman offer from Collingwood was approx $900k per season which was reported as more than the Hawks offer to Battle - so the speculation this past week is that Perryman would net GWS a Band 1 comp, but St Kilda may have only got a Band 2 comp

Not sure if the AFL took pity on St Kilda after their whinge the other night but they got the Band 1 comp they weren't expected to get
Or the Battle offer was more than reported

Apparently Oliver wasn't looking after the property he was living in properly so their director of football went over there and cut the grass and did the gardening for him. 😁😁 hilarious that he is taking a pay cut to move here and buy a farm.
A few sheep, cows + goats will mow the lawn. Chicken + geese to aerate the soil. No rose garden though 🤣

In all seriousness... If we took on most of Oliver's contract, surely it would hamper getting in someone like Butters, Brayshaw, Reid, Cadman etc.

Does having a dip at Oliver mean we don't think we are a shot at those above names... or maybe we were asking the Dees to eat up a bunch of that contract and the Dees didn't want a bar of that.

Surely Melbourne can't back themselves in to fix the situation. Why would you keep someone on the list (on huge money) if they've been sold the dream and their hearts no longer in it. Are they going to make him play out the remaining years on his contract like a prisoner?

I hope Geelong get him , what would have Parfitt been getting 500k , and that was absolute dead money , so we switch that 500k accross to CO , so we have nearly squared the books away allready

As for Smith , i see that as another Jade Rawlings potential disaster , and thus i hope he doesnt join the Cats , female supporters will be heartbroken but bad luck
Jade Rawlings was a decent defender, who had one David Mensch level year forward and somehow became a highly valued trade target. He was never near Bailey Smith's early output.

Losing a F1 would be more detrimental than any cap space issue, given the veteran retirements that will occur between now and then and increase in the cap.

'Prisoner' is a bit of a stretch. What prisoner has ever been asked to accept over a mill each year to simply do their job? Nobody had his arm fastened behind his back when he signed this deal in the first place.

I get that Melbourne have handled this appallingly. But Oliver has done more than his part to contribute to the absymal situation that has developed. It's not like they've screwed him completely while he's been behaving in an exemplary fashion. Surely it's fair to suggest that he might be just about the most problematic player going around in the whole competition at the moment. Given there's well over 700 players in the system at any point in time, that's a fair achievement in itself.

nah I think it just means he is the most gettable at this time. But at least it shows we have the available cap to spend as oliver has the most ridicules contract in the league.

So now what to do with our Future R1 … becomes more front and centre…. do we keep it for next year… do we trade it out so the Dogs cant demand it. and ensure no future FA targets can be complicated match and demand R1?

For example…For a name ….can we do what we did with Bruhn.. Use our R1 pick to get Stone from GWS ..we probably get something back….

or do we keep it till the draft …. do what we did with MaxH … trade our future pick for an early second on a player who we rate as good as R1...

We could also trade our future second which locks us from trading our future first

Is there another realistic target we could be after if Oliver is staying as now seems likely?
I still think he will leave , surely the leaked information and Melb’s handling of everything will be discussed between himself and his manager and what’s the best working environment for him over the next 6 will be

The money is good but it won’t buy back your health at the end of it

Am I insane?

Owies has been more than serviceable in his position. Why aren't they just paying the bloke?

Is their cap rooted?
Kicked 33 goals this season, third to Curnow + McKay.
“This is basically mismanagement by the Blues – they’ve done their numbers, and they’ve gone: ‘We’ve got too many small (forwards) already under contract, he’s the one coming out (of contract)’ – even though he’s the best.”
