If pick 43 is true, we got absolutely reamed
well u know.. we get reamed by everyone except carlton .. so this year they're trying to get some payback.

got reamed by afl again this year ... (allowing geelong to trade another first).

I'm not surprised by pick 43. GC could have just been like why have you offered 150k per year to someone that's worth a second rounder on the open market.
We've got ourselves to blame.

We need A grade mids, we have enough b and C graders. And no, nobody on our list who hasn't been exposed to a lot of football is capable of becoming an A grader. We have to face it, with our current midfield we would likely go backwards next year.
So 2 players, 1st round picks, 1 year into the system and your making the call on Doedee and Milera already...WOW..

Missing out on gibbs, even for 2 first rounders, when he's nominated your club....is a trade fail on the crows behalf.
I'm not having go as I actually don't mind if he goes. But as I've said, he will/would have really shone in the crows line up.
2 of my mates are MAD crow fans and I've said to them go back and look at the last ten years of first round picks and see who's worked out. It's not a big a return as you would think. With Gibbs you're getting a KNOWN quantity. He's proven and shown enough. While you guys can seriously push for a flag he would be one of the missing pieces. We may get pick 13 and next years first rounder from you. But who are they? What will they become. It's like playing the money or the box. We're in the semi dark whereas you guy are getting pretty darn solid walk up A grade mid who will give you loads of upside.....guaranteed.
If you get him it will be a very very low % that he won't work out.
On the flip side we MAY end up with 2 spuds.

Given your history it's likely you would get two spuds. Better off sticking with sour milk.

If I was Carlton I'd probably trade my sour milk for the spuds as the milk will only get sourer and sourer the longer you hold onto it.

When you put the old sour milk on the new greater western potatoes, you can make a sour mash that tastes really bad, but if you add enough salt you might be able to swallow it and kid yourself you have made something really tasty!

Didn't we offer $350K and he wanted $500K? He's not done enough to ask for that type of contract IMO.

You are assuming Lyons has no improvement left. This is what most said on BF last season that he was a hack borderline with no real talent. Would not cope with a full game of AFL. Knights on the other hand (yes he had an interrupted season) has gone backwards. Had a chance to cement his place when included but instead played so poorly in that game was not seen for the rest of the season.

Should do some more homework on Knight, He was brought back too early, after suffering a injury during pre-season, But his form in 2015 and late form in 2016 put him on higher curve and he only 21, Has More weapons and Pace.
While Lyon is inside and Forward, Knights is inside/outside Forward and Wing,
And let be Honest Lyons would have been in fight with Milera, Knight, Wigg, Menzel, Douglas, CEY for 2 positions,
Mackay fights with Seedsman, Hampton Doedee,
