The Bad, The Ugly and The Pathetic
On the Couch highlighted Reilly's missed tackle on Chapman in the 2nd qtr. That was a shocker at a crucial stage of the game

Reilly missed a few tackles on the weekend. Didn't look good for him

But he has been very good this year, unless he gets manned up. We need to hope one of these options happen:

a) Opposition coaches forget that he's damaging. When he's on his own intercepting marks, he is great. His disposal off the HB line will be invaluable in a final

b) He figures out how to play a man and runs off of him in the next few weeks. Really hope Dasher has been working on this, as i don't think option a will happen in a final

Reilly was on 5AA tonight and a supporter quizzed him about his game and Cornsey played Healys comments, must have felt over the moon.

Don't really care who you barrack for. On reflection unlikely to be Port given they've only got 11 fans left. Reckon if you throw abuse at one of the most improved players at our club you might have accept a little push back

BTW "Stephen Rowe said it" hardly the most watertight proof for your or any argument

This is a forum so as much as I have to accept 'pushback' so do those who I/others disagree with. I'm a huge Walker fan, as big as anyone, but that's probably why I'm so down on him. He has incredible POTENTIAL...if he'd only play harder, show more defensive pressure, be unselfish and grow up he'd be the best player in the competition. Anyone who can't see that is as the idiot said 'clueless'....BTW - I notice that Stephen Rowe was quoted but not my reference to Chris McDermott....in others people are happy to say that Stephen Rowe is an idiot but agree with me that Chris McDermott isn't. What a laugh

Agreed, I remember it....was an absolute stinker. I also remember seeing tex and truck dropping simple chest marks in front of goal. I saw 3 cats players contest a mark unopposed 10m from goal. I saw tex miss an obvious centre to callinan for a walk in goalat a crucial time. I saw tex and callinan kick 1.6 between them........etc etc etc

Nup, Chris McDermott is arguably a bigger idiot that Rowey.

At least Rowey has the excuse that he's calling the game for his lack of understanding. Similar to some of the clueless Fox commentators, Rowey notices some small thing and then blows things out of perspective. McDermott has no excuse. As an "expert comments" guy he often names the wrong match ups or fails to see the oppositions game plan. When I hear his comments after some games I think that someone slipped something into my Chardonnay. I then watch the replay and am reassured that it is our former captain that has been on the little green pills.

What were Healy's comments? I missed the couch last night
Very critical that we didn't come to play. Quoted Sando about us being a tough team and then honed in on Reilly's perceived lack of effort in letting Chapman slip straight past him.

McDermott like Rowe has played the game at the highest level for a long time...you have sat on your armchair with a beer in your hand telling everyone how much you think you know about the game.

Even worse Healy and roos said they thought Thommo should've been rubbed out for the contact on Johnson...I almost threw my beer at the tv

And he was a failed coach, just because he could play doesn't mean he isnt full of shit. Tell me what do you do when two past players have opposing views on the same subject? Do you agree with them both because they both played?

Just about every coach gets fired at some point in their career...does that make them a failed coach? How many games did you play for Adelaide again? I stand by made statement that Walker is often a selfish player who needs to play more of a team game and show more maturity and reach his potential. Dumping players on their heads, having shots when he should pass, needs to show more defensive pressure, oh and drinking beer when you're an emergency for a game is also a selfish and stupid thing to do. I don't give a flying f&^%^k if you agree with me or not that's what I believe. Get over it

McDermott in 4 years coached North to a wooden spoon and two second bottom places. He has never coached again.
Have you played for Adelaide? What makes you think you can criticise one of its players? Don't be a hypocrite.

I have great respect for McDermott as a player (Rowey not so much) but his comments on the game are pretty average. Compare him to Shaun Rehn or Nathan Bassett. He simply doesn't make the effort to follow what is happening and likes to make big statements for publicity.

P.S. Edited for accuracy

I was pretty happy that Healy was negative towards our performance. Shit umpires, oppositions home ground, shit weather, doesn't matter. We are a far better side than Geelong and we should have beaten them, that was a game about us earning respect and we didn't and now we won't until we win an important finals game.

Isn't the ideal scenario finishing second at the end of the minor round and have absolutely no-one taking you seriously.

Disagree....Walker instead of passing to a wide open Callinan charging towards goal took a shot and missed costing us a sure thing goal. Walker after being out for 3 weeks because of a tackle that was always going to get him in trouble puts in a pathetic effort. It's the second time this season and fifth game that Walker has missed because he, unlike most in the competition, can't seem to get his head around how to perform a basic skill of the game...i.e. tackling without dumping players on their head. You'd think that if you'd let your team down by being suspended for the second time and fifth game you'd be desperate to put in a good performance when your team needs you but he served up that rubbish instead. All the things I've listed are reasons why he's the most selfish player on the team. The commentators on 5AA remarked that he looked like he'd 'blown a gasket' after his first chase in the first quarter.....if I'd been sitting out for 3 weeks because of a stupid and selfish act I'd have trained my arse off and not lost any fitness.....Walked needs to learn that great players work harder than anyone else, play the team game, perform consistently and show up in big games.....There was a reason why Craigy kept dropping him and although he's better this year for someone with his speed, body, athleticism, massive leg and natural kicking style he should be a far better player than he is now.

Not a bad performance from such a selfish player this week, kicking goals to win then save the game in defense. Looked pretty fit to me. Either he took your inspirational words and advice last week to heart to entirely change his approach to the game or you were talking absolute rubbish
