Not sure he could've pulled out...it was very close even on slow replay. Bottom line is he chose to bump which resulted in high contact with head collision. You chose to bump you risk the head collision...simple.
But agree...2-3 weeks.
Tom Morris actually mapped it out really well (!) at half time of the Essendon game. Showed how the rule had evolved over the years and showed some similar collisions/bumps.

Upshot was two weeks

Reckless abandon first round game. We got attrition out of it by 3.
Great win for the club and on field.
Way better win for the coaches.
The sneak look of gearing up for certain teams has shone through and the last game against wore hard. I like the coaching

Although Lachlan Murphy’s goal was awesome, he is depth, probably same with McHenry.
Remember this team was built to beat Geelong.
Next week there will be a different team

Scott was asked at the presser why Dangerfield spent so much time up forward when the game was on the line.

"He can't play the whole game in the midfield, and also, he wants to play there"

That sounds familiar.
He also said he really values stability in the team...

When he was coaching us Malcolm Blight used to say the season starts in round 2 - he was wrong

The fantastic

Lachie Murphy has a shot on goal and misses from the boundary line point post pocket

He runs down the ground and makes a crucial tackle on Geelongs half forward line

Effort and commitment

Good to see Schoenberg lower the eyes today
I thought in general that we did that well. Far fewer up and under kicks. We looked for options, when there wasn't one or we had no time, we hand balled. Was much better to watch and soooo much more effective. To the point that when someone did do an up and under kick (eg Butts panicked at one stage in Q4 and hoofed it away) it stood out like dog's balls for being different to how we were playing. Just seemed like there was some system and correct decision making today. The execution faded as we got tired but that's inevitable. Last year there were games with no good signs whatsoever.

The only bad apart from the injuries:

They've changed the score and time clock on the electronic scoreboard. Now have both up the top in microscopic text. Borderline unreadable from the Eastern Stand
