Highlights go for 8 minutes only, but I could see
--- much greater intent/passion for the contest
--- a much-welcome change not to bomb away but to run-and-carry a little, then lower the eyes to find a target
--- tackling ferocity!
--- more open forward line (looked like, anyway)
--- stronger marking in the F50.

Every time *Keays* was shown, he did something good; loved his pass to Tex on the lead! (but it was highlights)

Keays, absolute warrior worked his ass off ALL DAY.
Hinge, grit and footy smarts .. could definitely see the pain he was in at the ground but kept coming back out after each shoulder pop and going hard.. respect 100%.
Berry, solid straight line goer.
Rowe, clean and in the right spots at right times.
TEX !
All round Team effort and commitment absolutely first-class.

I was a Nicks doubter last year, last 3 rounds notwithstanding, but with the new assistants and his own touch no doubt it looks really positive.
The transformation from last year's rabble to the group that played today has got me keen again.

That'll teach Jake Kelly!

First time in his career he ever plays on and goes straight up the guts with attacking flair, he gets concussed

Funny, its almost like nicks deliberatly hid our game style in the preseason as we looked totally and utterly different out there. So much to unpack from the game but i like the line' all played well'
Remember seeing a centre square clearance from Mchenry to sloane on lead forward

more of that sort of stuff from coaching panel please

also the last quarter - Shoenberg and McPherson winning crucial contests under game pressure

we like to do it different with non 1st round picks getting it done when it matters

injuries are just more opportunities for more talented players that didnt get selected because they didn’t deserve it

Their turn next week

Did losing Brown and Kelly help or hinder us?
Good question .... funnily enough looking up and seeing kelly next to Dangerfield in the goal square made me more comfortable than kelly roaming around half back

I’ve seen him do good roles on Gunston and he’s the sort of player with a task that can get it done , without a task he’s a liability

from 2018 onward Brown hasn’t been as good as what we’ve come to know previously

Second, I recall a run up the wing last year that was a turnover.

The Dangerfield hit, watching on replay is ugly. Chooses to bump, front on, Kelly had disposed of the ball and he could have pulled out, head contact, player concussed and will miss two weeks at least under new concussion rule. Anyone else = 2 or 3 games. Dangerfield/Geelong = Kelly reported.

this was 10 seconds after being run down by Hamil. He’s angry, frustrated and wants to take it out on the opposition.

he’s not even looking at Kelly as he flies in recklessly intent on revenge

he’s toast.

Watched the replay.
*Great win.
*Players looked much fitter than last year.
*Kicking skills were very good today.
*Total turnaround from our preseason matches.
*Best tackling match for some time.
*Loved the games of Berry, McPherson, Walker, Schoenberg, Laird, Sholl, Keays, Rowe, McHenry,ROB,
*Frampton played well and played his role. Still want to see Thilthorpe asap though.
*Really good to see us respond when Geelong came at us.
*Looking forward to next week's game against the swans.

Good: Switch on the Brisbane-Sydney game on for ONE second after Hawthorn in and hearing Dwayne Russell depressed.
Have you been a midday madness contributor? Cos you can’t break that 1984 centre half back apart from mmm 1984.
