Don Pyke Presser Drinking Game

Drink whenever Don Pyke says the following or an equivalent in his presser:

"It was an event, not a trend"

"Just a bad day"

"Nothing we did worked"

"We are capable of playing better football"

"We've shown we are better than this"

"Our players didn't stick to my proven structures"

"Our midfield was undermanned"

"I'll back the players in to respond"

Our seasons not over I think we will still make top 4.

BUT I have a feeling Sloane has aggravated his injury and it's now a one month plus issue, Betts has done a hamstring and Walker was clearly carrying something we have a lot of injurys we need to stay ahead of the ledger by half way point. On the bright side after the Swans game we have 5 games at AO

I expect the coach to whip the players on the track next week as that was pathetic

Hopefully a few players in the SANFL go well tomorrow too.

May as well drop Sloane as he's bringing nothing to this team at the moment. 17 touches for the night, 4 kicks and 13 handballs to go at a team low 47% disposal efficiency. Did nothing at all with it, didn't tackle, didn't give us anything. This is a guy who is meant to be an A grade player, sure he's playing hurt but if it's that bad then don't play. CEY is frustrating as anything with his non clean hands and slow play but he as a 17 gamer or whatever he is provided us a hell of a lot more than Sloane which says a lot about Sloane.

Fogarty, Betts and Jenkins did nothing all night. Heck, throw Lynch and Tex in there as well, they really had very little input into the game. McGovern was really our only forward that kind of looked active.

Mackay was pretty meh for me, lot of kicks forward that come back twice as fast since they're not to our advantage at all, that dumb kick inside 50 early on. At least he goes at it hard, that part was nice to see. Think he might need a rest though as that head knock late in the 4th looked bad.

Milera giving us nothing at all, no line breaking or damage by foot - if he's not doing either of those things, what does he bring?

Douglas isn't what he used to be, quiet for a lot of it. Did a few alright things but not enough.

Jacobs is terrible in the ruck, how you can lose a ruck contest when you're the only one going up sums up his tap work at the moment.

CEY/Atkins are still meh but at least they're finding the ball which is more then a lot of others did tonight.

Seeds found a bit but didn't have a very flash night.

Basically Gibbs was our only strong player for the night which is pretty sad. Laird I suppose wasn't too bad but he bunchered the ball hard early.

The football gods have dictated blind loyalty ends after 20 years. You can protest with your wallet.

I want to see tarps.
I'm.glad I'm in another state

The Pathetic Players List

Douglas - 200 game midfielder. Manages 14 touches in an undermanned midfield, 6 of which were in the last quarter. A pathetic useless hack and a waste of a spot. Provides no leadership. **** off.

Atkins - Softest and most embarrassing player to ever play 50+ games for the Crows. We all thought David Mackay was bad, this guy is next level shit. Burns the ball, sells hospital handpasses like nothing else, and cannot tackle to save himself. Needs to be dropped immediately and delisted as soon as possible.

Jenkins - Just **** off you useless garbage tall forward piece of god damn shit. Avoids contests like Port avoids discussing sponsorships. Plays like a mouse in a tiger's body. A disgrace to the jumper.

Sloane - If you are injured, put your hand up and DON'T PLAY. And if you're already thinking of heading back to Victoria, just **** off now and save us the time.

Walker - a captain with no leadership when the ship is sinking, cannonballs are killing teammates and the kraken is hiding under the waves. As one dimensional as a line. Scarred by the Grand Final.

Jacobs - a bollard could ruck better. Literally has no idea how to tap the ball to our players even when there is no ruckman and a 5 meter clear paddock around him. An absolutely appalling effort and continuing his embarrassing form to start the season. Can only win the ruck battle when things are on his terms and he is playing a Matty Clarke lookalike. Should be forced to retire.

Ellis-Yolmen - not AFL standard and bizarrely retained on the list for 7 years despite everyone realizing this many years ago

Lynch - downhill skiier on a 90-degree vertical slope. Such a weak player when we need to play contested football, offers no leadership, can't take a contested mark to save himself, just a big pile of dicks

Hartigan - the master of spoiling our own players, brainfades across half back, and bizarrely loose checking. Holds the record for the most spoils directly to the advantage of an opponent.

Brown - I'm starting to question how good you really are
Thing with Brown, tonight he could do very little with what most of our midfield dished up. Played poorly, but wasn't helped.

Was always going to be a slow start to the season coming off a late finish plus some injuries. I didn't think it would be that slow though.

Clearly a few shouldn't have played. Was talk during the week that Betts had a hammie niggle.

I wonder if we got spooked by Sydney at the SCG next week and considered this a must win game?

Can't play under pressure.

A 4th gamer built like a pencil has kicked 4 on us.

Injuries also mounting, another hamstring.

Rory should pick Hawthorn so he doesn't play for a soft club
Rory was ****ing soft himself tonight

May as well get started.

Let’s look at the senior players:

-Tex is a great captain when everything is going our way. When we are struggling/losing and require leadership he is next to useless. Had his chance. Must handover captaincy to Sloane, if he stays, or M Crouch next year.

-Betts – Love the little guy gut he’s finished. Retire at the end of the year.

-Typical Jenkins yeat, 1 good game out of 4. Easily the worst ruckman in the comp.

-Mackay, Douglas – career underperforming senior players who are un-dropable.

-CEY – embarrassing lack of composure and football smarts. Delist at the end of the year.

-Jacobs – thrashed, destroyed by Grundy.

-Atkins – Without Matty Crouch feeding him he becomes redundant. Soft!

-SLAM! – the sound of our brief premiership window closing. We have had one genuine window of more than a year (2005, 2006) in our last 20 years. The supporterbase deserve a better club.
gold my thoughts exactly

Well last year we had the north game which was a similar lack of effort. Need to lift mentally get some mongrel like Geelong gws games last year. It's not ability its effort

And coaching. We can set up to play a certain way when you have Matt Crouch at the coal face. But when you replace him with CEY can you set up the same way? Rory Sloane was cooked. Why play him? Seems to me that there is nobody else on the list that can play to our structures other than an injured Sloane. How about change your game plan and your team selection to suit the players that are fit, the opposition and the conditions. This one style fits all is killing us. Buckley slaughtered Pyke today.

The boys on the field showed nothing, but they were weren’t helped by the coaches.

That was diabolical. Wow.

I can’t remember seeing such an all round pathetic team performance. Our players were not mentally switched on from the start. They were slow as was dictated by our team selections. There was no cohesion at all, no system, no structure, very reactive. The players should be ripped to shreds over that performance.

Nobbled at selection. 5 tall forwards. It beggars belief.

Add in a team full of high fiving about their babies and awesome lives.

We're not making a GF this year people. 6th to 10th. Don't fight it.

We looked old and slow, always second to the ball and they would waltz out of the contest with ease.... they all got their arms free and then hit a target with a handball (or drop or throw into a running plyers direction)

We looked confused and were always hanging out wide.

Amen. Every time I make this point on this board the hate comes. That first half in the GF was the all time worst half from a captain in a GF. Thats automatic 3 strikes for me.

Agreed. His GF performance was as an insipid a performance as I have seen from a captain in a GF. Unless he can redeem himself, he will forever be known as a player who choked on the biggest stage.

Worst game we’ve played at Adelaide Oval.
Inept.
Gutless
Effortless
Brainless

CEY is sanfl
Sauce is only going to get worse
Tex does not cope with pressure
The main worry with Sloane is whether we can persuade the Saints to give us their first pick
Milera will be good in games where we don’t need him to be
Most of our players are dumb
Oh **** it I can’t go on.
All shit

Only Gibbs looked decent. Seeds cracked in, Guv gave a damn

Crows could of done with the man in your avatar tonight... harder than every crow player put together.
