He ran out a full game 6 days later just fine.

If you’re concerned with one of your top 5 players running out the game, you start him and sub him if he doesn’t last and if we copped an injury in the first 5 mins he would have played a full game.

Facts are they didn’t seem him as a top 5 player at the time or a centre mid let alone our best one.

And yet they signed him to the second longest contract in the history of the club in his second year?

You can see the contradiction surely - just perhaps their timeline and management of a young player differs from how you and others would do it from the couch

Or more likely there is a disconnect between selection, on field coaching and list management.

Who said it was the best presser ever and it was great?

All that was said he admitted to ******* up which Nicks doesn’t do, instead he blames the players.

Sorry if that upset your Port sensitivities
He only did so because he knew he was going to be justifiable bashed from pillar to post for such a stupid decision. They can’t even get their lies straight either - saying before the match there was “no damage” (despite us being told it was a grade 1 tear earlier) and then in the post match talking about scans to see if there was any “further damage”. Hes an absolute bellend.

Yep, long term contract. But did they think he was this good already in rd 1? We didn’t even play him as a full time mid until Carlton was it?

My view then and now is he’s a gun and you play your best players, you don’t make them sub. If they were worried about him running out a game he shouldn’t have been sub and even if that was the case, you play him and see how long he lasts then sub him.

But he did, Nicks taken ownership for any part of this year?

Got nothing to do with the ridiculousness of people praising Ken for ****ing up and owning up to it. Nicks has his own issues, but by god he’s not anywhere near as bad as Hinkley. (Yet, at least).

Nobody has said Hinkley is a better coach than Nicks - each has their own issues but people are so blinded they dont realise the comment was

At least Ken owns up to his mistakes

I posted where Chadwick said similar when saying '' the players didnt execute properly SO THATS ON US COACHES TO BE BETTER''

2 instances where the coaching group owns up to the one thing Nicks cant

' yeah the playing group struggled to implement the game plan ''

Thats exactly what it’s got to do with. Who has praised Hinkley? All I’ve read is a direct comparison one coach has owned some errors whilst Nicks has blamed the players.

As for not being as bad as Hinkley, Hinkley has a far better record than Nicks so where you pulling that from?

Hinkley is better than Nicks, that’s not praising Hinkley, that’s just reality. Hinkley consistently has his side in the finals, Nicks hasn’t once and blew our start.

Goal umpire was certainly not eagle eyed - he called a point a goal.

Keane thought it brushed the post, the 'bunker' review every goal - thats how the mistake got picked up.
I always thought that was just lip service to shut the players up. This is the first time I've ever seen a hard called goal get reversed.

No idea how true, could just be made up, but I heard one of the pundits suggest maybe the umpires have been told if they think it's a goal, just call it a goal since it'll get reviewed anyway to speed up the process. Which I understand might technically work, but it's just asking for more trouble. 8 rounds in and we're already cutting corners which will no doubt end in tears again.

They're damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

At the start of the season they were instructed to review everything which was even remotely close. The constant reviews & subsequent delays drove everyone batty, and led to a huge outcry for sanity to prevail.

Now they're relying on the "every goal gets reviewed" to avoid as many delays as possible. Mind you, this was the first time I've ever seen a goal overturned by the video umpire, without having previously been referred by the goal umpire.

We can only hope/assume that decisions they think are points, but which are close, are still getting reviewed, in case they turn out to be goals.

All the reviews in the world can't save them from ****ing up some decisions though. On Thursday night there was one incident where they couldn't decide whether the ball hit the behind post on the full, or landed out of bounds on the full. They decided to throw the ball in... despite either option being an Adelaide free kick next to the goal post.

Subaru wouldn't be an alias, it would be resurrected from her earlier account. In terms of resurrection', I think she's back, as is mick and Murray. That elite crow chap is also, but I think he outed himself. Similar to Jack is back, but not Kristof, who tried to sneak back in.

Don't forget Alex, everyone and no-one is alex
