Excellent:
  • Sloane - machine
  • Tex - What a beautiful long kick of the ball, great goals, great assists, captain's performance
  • Talia - pure shut down defender and shut down their key forward perfectly
  • Hartigan - showed his versatility playing on a small forward and nullified one of the most dangerous in Robbie Gray - most of Gray's possessions were up the field and his last goal was junk time
Good:
  • Lynch working back into good form running hard
  • Was impressed with Hampton's game, think he has a lot of improvement left.
  • Eddie's first half
  • Otten worked hard and showed composure - unfortunately if we have a fully fit squad i still think he ultimately will be left out
  • Charlie showed glimpses of brilliance. Saw some thread how Charlie Cameron is similar to Petrenko! Spat out my orange juice when i read that - Charlie's run down the wing is all the evidence you need of the difference between the two.
  • Rat was composed with ball in hand.
Bad:
  • McGovern's injury - hopefully not too bad and back in a couple of weeks
Terrible:
  • Kelly's disposal, has to go. I like his harassing (was it Winged or Powell Pepper he harassed and held up on the HBF? Was impressive either way). I like his intelligent reading of the play and willingness to leave his man and help out a team mate, but there comes a point where disposal is so bad no other factors can compensate. Kelly is at that point.
  • Old Mackay was back (except for that utterly brilliant goal)

Port played well for port, hopefully ryder has shafted their chances by getting himself suspended for a few rounds. They got a great ride from the umpires as well, there was about ten times in a row in the first 3/4 of the third term where we could have, should have got holding the ball on them.....crickets chirping. Then all of a sudden they start getting holding the ball frees out of nowhere, which just conveniently gets them back into it while we are out on our feet.

Ricciuto vs Russell, roo won that, stayed professional and even pro port for most of the night, russell let his true colours out as he spat it at the end.

No one stood out brilliantly, was amazed at some of the stats, can't believe how well sloane did. Everyone did well. We are a machine.

Great start to the year, a coupla easier games to come soon.

Great that some shit sides are starting to play some good ones and we wont have to hear so much shit spoken about them as though theyre actually good. Port today. Richmond are still going way better than they are. Geelong too, how lucky to get melb when they kick like shit and lose gawn.

Pity about gov. Good that others stood up. Kelly and Otten were great. Harto. Cameron. Atkins had a bizarre game. Ended up with a fair bit of it, but just didn't seem with it - could he have caught betts cold??

BLoody happy with that win. Really wanted it to shut up power nobs. Annoyed we let them get close tho. Had chances to step on throat and make it a rout but some really poor work going in 50 cost us, we were really resistant to move it forward. Actually, we saw again tonight, crows two constant weaknesses, vulnerable to over the back and vulnerable to having our forward line choked up by extra numbers. the good thing is some pretty handy teams have tried it and failed to beat us even with those vulnerabilities thus far. .

Hopefully we go well in SANFL tomoz.

Nothing wrong with Kelly's game. Mature.

Where's Janus?

Somebody find Janus.

I wanna hear about how Port's new Football 2.0 is working out for them.

According to Janus, tonight was apparently going to be Port's version of Geelong v Richmond in early 2007, where Geelong - after coming off a couple of poor seasons - demolished Richmond by 160 points and it was the start of their dominant era.

Some happy quotes on the Power board tonight.

We won't beat the crers again under Hinkley.

In three years Adelaide have built themselves into a contender for a premiership. We have built ourselves into a long shot contender for a finals spot.

Stupid plastic franchise, hate losing to the $ANFL's lovechilds!!!

Blaming the umpiring? We had 7 more frees. Blame our mids and that useless hack Sam Gray. How many big games do we have to see him in and ****en choke in all of them.

Listen up Janus I've had enough of yo... Jimmy? Are you feeling alright or are you running a heck of an alter ego?
EDIT: Sorry you can't be Janus, you admitted the Crows are a good team.

Look at the crows flog. Choke on a fat one

I can't remember who said it during the week, but in spite of our performances, we still can't be trusted. I don't think we are mentally fragile this year, as much as our best 22 is fragile.

Hopefully we go well in SANFL tomoz

What are we going to do with Menzel. Cant miss 2 weeks in a row. I hope they play him and restrict him to about 60% time on ground. Cant afford him to get injured tomorrow. Tough one.

Stark difference between the two captains at the end. Tex with a clutch captain's goal, Boak with a 50m penalty against him. Wines should be their captain.

Hartigan's game was SENSATIONAL. Killed Robbie Gray.

Sloane is just amazing.

Eddie, Lynch, Crouch, Dougie, Talia all good.

Hampton is lifting. Gaining more and more confidence. Needs to stay in.

Knight was absolutely immense in the 2nd half. He's a warrior, that bloke.

Cameron was electric again in the first half, then faded.

Otten certainly made his presence felt.

Smith, Atkins and Laird were meh, I thought. Milera stunk it up. McGovern wasn't too impactful, then the injury came. Mackay was better than Milera, but was still average.

Jake Kelly paid Pyke back in spades tonight.
