The afl really need 2 goal of the years, one for just the miraculous fluke and one for skill.
You won’t see better than Tex’s last night for pure ability.
Being a big man just makes it even better, Bork then slot it on your non dominant foot (he doesn’t really have one) from outside 50.
I’m going to suggest I haven’t seen a better skilled player at his height play the game, and would love for someone to cut together everyone of his sublime hand passes or kicks to a player to advantage, I’d happily watch that one hr tape.

Anyone that has played any form of footy would know that Tex's goal last night on the left was arguably goal of the year, definitely has to be a contender.

We will see that vision throughout the Finals series when they place nominations for it.

Reckon it was dunstall a week or so ago that went on about a pass from Tex in the GWS game when he drilled it under the player on the mark and lace out into our leading player in the 50, recked he hadn’t seen it before.

Apparently this was the first time Mark Keane's parents had ever been to an AFL game

The club brought them over from Ireland to watch him

Collingwood never did

That is a tad harsh - his only 5 games for Collingwood were in 2020 and 2021 when international borders were closed.

Bork? 🤣

Crouch best mid on the ground by far , either team

Happy with that
When you consider port rolled up with their best possible midfield, it was a great sight to see us turn them over there. Admittedly they had a very inexperienced ruck that didnt help them but when the ball hit the ground our lads did them.

Just goes to show what mental application and 4 quarters of high end pressure can do even when we were minus some of our top end talent

Burton dropping that uncontested mark then keays soccering the spill to Tex who kicked first of 7

Most unreal karma

Burton is as soft as butter , classic north adelaide
He didn't soccer it. He did a magnificent drop punt on the bouncing ball which spun perfectly and hit Tex lace-out!

Good:
Wayne Mileras best game.
Matt Crouch. What do we do with him here? Tackling and clearance machine. His hands are good and his centre clearances are better than Lairds IMHO.
Mark Keane on Charlie Dixon, pretty funny.
Fogarty with 9 marks, we will be okay when Tex eventually goes

Bad:
Nothing, except that Keays Forward half turnover, honestly his disposal will end his career.

Ugly:
Port going in with a young kid as a ruckman, absolutely ridiculous, especially when their backup is Charlie Dixon with shot knees.
Now we have hope of playing finals and we will get so far and have a stupid, frustrating loss against Sydney or something.

How am I supposed to sleep after Tex's SCINTILLATING SEVEN??:hearteyes:
THAT goal off the L-foot after selling Aliir a bag of candy!! Who else in the Comp. can kick a 50m goal off their non-preferred foot?

Not ashamed to say my eyes stung a little when they announced the Medal winner and the boys got around Tex.
They love him. WE love hihim.
He did it last week also! The guy is a freak

I was wrong about Matt Crouch.

He wound the clock back to 2017

It's possible to be both right and wrong simultaneously.

Laird is also very zippy throughout 360 degrees over a few paces, Crouch is pedestrian always. Can't knock him for getting as right as he can be though. He was always going to be a bit off it after 12 months off with quad/groin issues. That's where your power comes from, his brother wasn't his fully powerful self his first year after groins/quads either, I'd be surprised if any footy player is.

In terms of it not being either, I'm not sure we're yet that advanced that we look at the mix. Matt will always rack up 30 and I exoect that if he returns to being sharper with his forward movement and release, he'll play 80% midfield along with both Laird and Keays. I've not seen anything yet that suggests our coaching group doesn't believe strongly that a 4 man midfield is the optimum strategy. Who they are is the only question up for current debate.

He's the one that the Crows tried to trade from Geelong (post Stengle?) but couldn't get it done. Then we tried to trade for Kade Chandler (possibly the next year??) and couldn't get that done either.
When were we into Evens? Don't remember that at all.

We were into something with Chandler, he's quality.

Yes, we tried hard to get Chandler 2 years ago .....was consistently playing VFL at that stage
