Greg Swann to Carlton

Meh, he's done a good job, but it's not as if he can't be replaced. Eddie has plenty of contacts, you don't think the Packers know any good administrators?

The funny thing is that I'll bet most Carlton supporters would've sworn black and blue that Swann was rubbish until the news that he'd been hired by Pratt. Just like Cam Cloke may as well be Dean Cox right now.

Aside from the Mitchell/Pagan saga, I wasn't aware of any infighting and back srtabbing go on at Carlton now that RP is the President. Great get by the Carlton Footy Club, and another step forward for us.

Your club s really trying to be like Collingwood arent you??

Well I have news for the scumbags, Swann's job at the pies was easy because we are the most famous club this country has seen & ever will!!

Your club are just a bunch of band wagon supporters with in constant infighting & a culture of cheating!!!

Some of this maybe true tosspot.

Win a flag why don't you! NAB, or premiership. It is still more than your losing mob. We have had some tough years no doubt. Thats behind us. We will enjoy the rise while you guys fall. But then again, you have the great full forward Nathan Buckley to kick goals for ya! :D :D

Bandwagon supporters? give me a break....

:D :D

Go home.

Tough years..lol you have been a laughing stock for 7 years!!

And explain why you guys are on the way up? You obviously forget the last time you hacks won the "I need the money & members pre season cup!", you ended up with another spoon!

If Fev gets injured you will have another number 1 draft pick to add to your collection!

And Bucks as our full forward??? Do you watch the same games as I do? Ever heard of Rocca, Cloke (The only talented one), Fraser, Didak, Thomas, Davis, Egan, Medhurst.. I think the highest scoring team in the AFL last year has no issues here.

PS How future young players are alot more talented than most of your so called stars!

7 years? That's funny because I recall us finishing 2nd on the ladder 7 years ago, 5th 6 years ago and again above Collingwood 3 years ago. So in our "laughing stock" years as you describe them we have finished above Collingwood 3 out of 7 years. Not too bad for the darkest years in our club's history.

those seasons 7 and 6 years ago when you had salary cap concessions shouldn't count. same in 95

I don't think it would bother us much, but his timing is awful with the start of the season only a week away, and Dale Thomas living at his house.

Poor form from Swann, I reckon, but best of luck to him for his new appointment.

I'm sure we'll cope, he was a good asset though. We pinched Walsh off North so we can't complain. I'd rather spend 200k on recruiting than meeting Carltons offer if $ is what it came down to.

Depends on how much he brought in. There's already rumours that Eddie's trying to recruit John O'Neill, which would be an amazing coup. I have no idea if there's any truth to it however.

John O'neill alah rescued NRL from the Super League debacle? Lets hope. Realistically Eddie is the one we don't want to lose as he is the 'salesman'. We can always buy another Swann (Carlton did), but not another bloke with the passion and connections of Eddie. Carlton still haven't learnt their lesson have they? Buying premierships still doesn't guarantee loyalty, I mean look at their nightmare membership figures, and all the players who bled their club dry on $1mill packages and turned them into the basket case beggars they are today? All the rats left the sinking ship when the cash dried up. You have to have a decent member base to 'sell' to sponsors. Pratt will only be able to donate so much, and doesn't have the appeal of Eddie anyway. Swann rode on Eddies coat tails and even he can't polish a **** (Carlton).

Eddie has set up the club so that when he leaves or any other key admin leaves, it doesn't crumble. He has said this when commenting on Swann's departure. As for the next president Pert is a good selection, Craig Kelly would be good and could still continue his agency business IMO. What would be a good coup would be the crazy johns guy.

Swan to Carlton no different to Walsh going from North Melb to Collingwood or Brian Cook WCE to Geelong.

These CEO blokes all swap and change every few years, just part and parcel of AFL footy and for that matter the business world in general. Nothing to get overly emotional about.

If Eddie could land John O'Neill that would be a great coup, even if he does not have an AFL background.

A good CEO wouldnt need a football background, a business background is best. I will do it.
