Plenty to catch up on, let's get some match summaries done. Apologies for the tardiness, been around Bigfooty less and real life more recently.

Round One:

Round one started on a joyous note as we welcomed The_Wookie as Gumbies player #285 and it did not relent from there. We dominated the Bombers, winning all four quarters en route to a big win that has the club atop the ladder after the opening round of the season. bone2468 was convincingly best on ground with rye, Dory_77, ossie_21, Brick Loosener, GWS Goose and Aucklander all performing strongly.​

Round Two:

Second up we trekked to Coney Island to take on the persimmon team, now with added Barrybran. It didn't help them though as we raced to a 48 point lead in the third term on the back of cats_09, Mop, Dory_77, NSWCROW, Brick Loosener and The_Wookie all flourishing. Ultimately we did let the Warriors mount a comeback however they never got back within two goals and we enjoyed a 15 point lead to remain one of only two undefeated teams. CatToTheFuture and Jeremias getting a shoutout from the sim for their performances on Baz:​

• While both players struggled to make an impact, CatToTheFuture did very well against Barrybran. - 22m from 3 to 25.​

Though different weather conditions, round three was very similar to round two. We enjoyed another pleasant match thread with the Royals and jumped out to a large lead before allowing somewhat of a comeback from our opponents. Jeremias played a fantastic match and was well supported by BlueE, bone2468, Falconista, GWS Goose and Supercheapgiants who made the most of limited opportunities. It was though Aucklander who was the star of the show keeping the reigning Fred Medallist to zero disposals before qoach decided to rest our warrior (pun somewhat intended) for the last 15 minutes.​

Quite an even set of stats so far. cats_09 has been a tackling machine to start the season and GWS Goose has made a good debut at full forward. However, the stars thus far have been bone2468 who has been elite from the forward flank and Aucklander who is dominating at full back.

There will be a change for round four. BlueE is out suspended (or 'hamstring awareness'), so rye will be back following their good form in AnUltimateRessie's version of the seconds league.

The unbeaten streak ended at home to the Furies. In a match that rained goals, we were competitive though in deficit for much of the day. We never let the Furies break away to any dominant leads however couldn't fully reel them in despite bone2468, cats_09, Falconista, beez, Brick Loosener, Dory_77, saintkildaman and StFly having huge matches. Conceding 22.12 made it tough day for defenders but none were disgraced and are standing up as you'd expect from the most important part of a qooty/footy team.​

This time though, we're left to rue the third quarter where we amassed a wasteful 2.7 stopping us turning for home a couple of goals up. Speaking of goals, NSWCROW and GWS Goose combined for 7 and both won their matchups. Also impressive were The_Wookie, CatToTheFutute, cats_09, beez, CatToTheFuture and ossie_21. However all were upstaged by rye who topped 100DT for the first time in their career, in a performance that should garner Mobbs Medal votes.​

The Sweet Cricket Association (Sweet CA) has been announced!

The cricket sim league will commence Season 01 in the Sweet FA Off-Season, and will incorporate teams and grounds set within the existing Municipality of Sweet and will serve as a feeder to the Sweet FA within a new designated Sweet CA sub-forum. The Sweet CA is to be a pathway to the wider world of Qooty for new posters, a place for budding leaders to showcase potential, an off-season activity for those needing a sim fix, or simply for those of us who just love or miss a little qricket.

Round Six:
What a yuck result! Following a match thread which had discussions about older technologies and early computers, we played like a team of older IT bros. Super kicked the opening goal of the match but from there we were belted. At times in the first half, we stayed close on the scoreboard only due to our excellent first accuracy. GWS Goose kicked three goals on a tough day, with the unlikely ossie/Aucklander/Falconista trio going well when in the middle and NSWCROW/CatToTheFuture doing nicely in defence. The sim delivered what is hopefully the lowest point of our season.​

This weekend, our fabulous clubman bone2468 reaches 150 career matches and as they've all been for the Gumbies, life membership of the club. Now in our 21st year, bone becomes just the fourteenth person to the 150 mark for the club.

Recruited in season 29 for the purposes of a reptilian expansion bid, bone stuck around when that bid didn't get up. Not one to post quantity in match threads, he is an active and present part of our club posting in the match threads/team threads or the PM around work commitments. On the week of match 100, bone had a significant personal milestone so this may feel a bit of a letdown in comparison. Hopefully GWS Goose has organised manufacture of some boner pins in honour of this occasion.
