Ump got totally suckered in there. Massive dive. I think we're starting to see far too many frees simply paid on reputation now. Greene and Sicily and players like that copping it quite badly.

I don't have a problem with that as long as they're consistent. Don't give 50/50 frees to all known stagers and duckers. Based on that last free, Wood loses it for next week. If he exits a contest and the umpire doesn't get a full view of a push, assume he took a dive.

But Selwood was at it again last night and for some reason he was getting the benefit of the doubt, so I doubt it's as clear cut as that in reality.

That just means that any contact on the wrong side of the contest never gets paid. Umpiring isn't an exact science, sometimes you need to weigh up everything that you see and come to a call.
