The thing that doesn't make sense with this anyway is that I have zero idea how Richmond will get both Taranto and Hopper so I don't see how Geelong are out of the race for Hopper.

This to me just sounds like Bruhn was always going to choose Geelong and it wasn't dependent on Hopper.

Surely Jade Gresham now becomes Hawthorn’s number one FA target next year? This will be three years in a row of being under the salary cap. I reckon we have over 2 million dollars to spend.

Makes sense if they are trading a bloke like Dusty or have other chess pieces to move.

My take on Bruhn is his management have played it beautifully. If he has told GWS he’s out then he needed options. Cats, Hawks, The threat of North allows him to manoeuvre his exit.

So RNL saying that if Hopper didn’t chose Geelong they would likely go after Bruhn was wrong, how, exactly?

Not having a go at RnL as he made a follow-up post that (to me) clearly suggested that we were Bruhn's second choice - but initially the info was that we had our man, and forget what else you hear in the media.

What picks do Geelong have to get both ?

Well that's a double blow - we lose out on a young talented player that not only fills a need and would be going for unders, but Geelong gain a much needed young talent at the perfect age to come in and contribute right away.

Essendon people said the same thing about us getting O'Meara back in the day too. Took some work and favors called in but they got it done in the end

They have Pick 12, 19, 30 and Soldo.

Then they can dip into future picks too, if they really want to. They'll haggle for 2 weeks, but it's not hard to see it getting done.

Pretty hard to criticise what he said before he then provided further clarity though (not saying you are). Weird to play devil's advocate suggesting RNL got this wrong when 5 days ago he basically nailed it. Some people just love to shit on ITK posters as though it is some kind of sport when all these people do is keep this time of year interesting for us.

Yeah his second qualifying post made it clear to me that it was unlikely as soon as Hopper nominated Richmond.

Personally I'm really disappointed by this. The rich get richer.

You lose some and ya win some. We have already won this off season, Amon in, clean out done and draft targets confirmed.

If were lucky we have a stratts and poppy tucked away for season 2023.

There has been plenty of wrong mail from ITK's in the past but this isn't one of these cases.
RNL qualified the initial statement very clearly.

As you said, the mail is interesting at this time of the year, even if it doesn't always work out for us.
