Jack Bowes dropped for GC. Ironically, he was the pick 10 they used in 2016 from the JOM trade.

one of the biggest stuff ups in trade history. Clubs do everything they can to trade out first rounders and not use them on bids. GC traded a pick in to use. They should have take our 2017 1st instead.

I have zero interest in Amon or Brayshaw. In my opinion they have peaked in solid squads. Solid players, but can they improve another 30%? Also both 26. Does it make sense to dump $600k-$750k on either of these players? Will it truly make a difference?

I believe we need to target 21-23 year olds. Similar to how we landed Gunston & Scrimshaw. There are plenty of quality young guys not getting a game.

If I was to pick one, it's Amon. Penetrating kick, also has attacking mindset.

If we are talking potential contender window (2025-2028) Morrison, Day, CJ, Bramble & Maginness would be my rotations across the wing.
Strapping Young Lad Coach Mitchell made sense this morning on SEN, when asked about Amon and our plans..

“We need to bring as much talent into our group in the right age bracket as we can.

“Karl is on the edges of that. If he’s a player that was interested in coming to Hawthorn then that would be a conversation.”

Great! Sounds like Amon is in our age bracket and we'd be interested if he was interested!

Welcome to Hawthorn Karl Amon.

Geez, happens quickly doesn't it?

I remember thinking Dusty could play til he was 35 if he wanted it because his body was so resilient. Bit like what happened with Birch all of a sudden with that PCL.

Well he only says that if you listen to what he's saying - not read between the lines to suit your own narrative in order to win a pointless web forum argument.

Welcome to Hawthorn Karl Amon.

As it stands, we are not Amons preferred destination. We have tabled the most lucrative long term deal but he wants to go to a big four club ( don’t shoot the messenger) Won’t go to St Kilda. Was keen on Carlton as they were keen on him but they don’t have the cap space

Hope he changes his mind, great fit for the club IMO

Missed 25 games cross his first 11 seasons(including 6 in his first year) averaged 21.8 games a season during this period. Played 8 games in the next 3 seasons missing 60 games.

Players decline is often a cliff rather than a slope.

Probably sounds a bit worse than it is considering you cant really help the injury (kidney?) that kept him out then missing a lot of games dealing with the loss of his father.
