12 months ago I was told that when Clarko went Jack called a meeting with the players Clarko had traded in to discuss their thoughts on the club going forward. The unanimous decision was that none of them wanted to be three club players (or four for Frosty) and they would see out their careers as Hawks unless not offered a new contract when out of contract or delisted by us. This is why I was so certain last year that none would be traded as evidenced by Chad knocking back GWS.

Now that Jack has backflipped and walked out it’s changed the game.
This is why I'm so disappointed in jack leaving . Needed him now more than ever. I think the club would've been very good at looking after his plans for now and after.

Losing eight players with 100 games experience will hurt and this will set us back slightly. On the bright side though, if there’s ever a time to have a top 4 draft pick, 2023 would be the year to do it.
Screw bottom 4 Harley Reid is a superstar already he’s what we need it’s time for the reverse magpies (no relation to the reverse vampires) and lose 22 games by less than a goal and boom! After screwing cats and dons with their preferred players at our picks of course!

“We need to be bold, what is MM doing?”

To be fair nothing has actually happened. Hope it does and I will be the first to cheer and sing his name and put his half asleep photo between myself and my wife in the budois if he does! I think there’s a misunderstanding between criticism and the disappointment of potentially missing opportunities to get us back up contending quicker. I get it’s a tough gig but we are hawthorn not st kilda. And I’m in the UK not much going on here…

AFL news says fiorini deal unlikely may mean TOM gets done. Would we consider given our outs adding fiorini as a salary dump to replace TOM as a younger slow moving accumulator? What if we said we’d take fiorini and Atkins and give them f2 for pick 7 wouldn’t that be a joyous FU to the cats!!!

1.40. Hodge-like.
It's literally like watching a young Michael Voss or Dustin Martin. If he's doing all that already we do what it takes to get him. If it means we're awful next year so be it. JOM and Mitchell leaving this year will be a distant memory if Reid is wearing the Hawks colours next year.

Yep, that happened. It just goes to show that a year can be a long time in football.

It won't matter. WC are that bad, they'll have the spoon.

To be fair when you stated he wasn't leaving his camp had already approched several clubs

Can’t blame senior players for leaving when the coach is sacrificing current performance for, hopefully, future performance. I know I would struggle to stay motivated as a player knowing the club wasn’t prioritising winning.
And can't blame the club for doing so when that group of senior players haven't been able to win a final in 6 years, or look even close to doing so. This is the reset the club needs after the failed post-premiership era.
